I bought a turkey today from Aldi for £9, weight was 3.80 kilos:)

Hope they soon accept credit cards, then I can get my 1% cashback.

My friend swears that Aldi will never use credit cards in England.

I have lost out on special buys as I didn't have enough money on my debit card to pay with. Then five days later, I get paid and could I find the special buy? Nope!

Until Aldi accept credit cards, if there is anything I want on the special buys and cash flow isn't good, I ask my parents to lend me money.

  • I've never actually heard anyone say 'Aldis' or 'Lidls'....'Tescos' yes, but that's about it.

Maybe you should stick to Waitrose.

Husband has a PhD in nuclear physics but you might not think so sometimes ;)

    Don't be such a snob.

Where are these Aldi stores in 'England' that accept credit cards?

The only one that I know of is in Berwick on Tweed, which is very, very close to the border of Scotland;)

Aldi is going through a programme of upgrades at the moment (introducing chilled storage for fruit & veg).

Because the stores are relatively small, this creates pressure on space and on staff to keep the store running properly.

My local store had 2 weeks of disruption, and now it's back to normal.

Yes thats 1 of the pitfalls of having small stores.

I bought some of Aldi's long life filled pasta. Not impressed. I find their jelly babies a bit hard.
