Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Absolutely agree with you. It's a practise that seems to exist almost entirely amongst those whom education passed by. Interesting that Waitrose customers have never felt the need to create a pet name - or indeed to add the ludicrous 's' that the intellectually challenged add to names like Aldi, Lidl and Tesco.
Heck, that's a bit rude.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -

I blame the companies for having the pretentious gall to call themselves by a singular name when they are clearly a group of relatively like-minded individuals.
Ultimately, though, the confusion originates with these people, I think...
Or could it be these...
Whoever said apostrophes were easy clearly hasn't been shopping recently.0 -
I picked up some tomato puree in my Lidl on Friday.
It was in an orange tube, rather than the blue branding that the tinned tomatoes are in.0 -
New flavours/new packaging for the 4x Active Yogurts...
The Raspberry layered flavour is fantastic. The yogurt is rich, smooth & creamy, and the raspberry layer is fruity and not too sweet. In different packaging, this could easily pass for a premium product at twice the price.
My only (minor) criticism is that a bit more raspberry would be nice... even though it might detract from the sumptuousness of the yogurt.0 -
I have posted little but contempt for Sainsbury's on this forum. You seem to have got your wires a little crossed.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Along with the supermarkets which rip people off, I tend to reserve my contempt for people who try to score cheap points by telling porkies
.
I don't recall expressing contempt in my product recommendation (one, just two days ago, ISTR), but I'm sure someone overflowing with the milk of human kindness (semi-skimmed, curdled, sell-by last Wednesday) might be able to find some.0 -
Does anyone else like the Frangipane tarts (pack of 6) from Aldi?
I have only been introduced to them recently and think I may have a slight addiction to them0 -

I've never actually heard anyone say 'Aldis' or 'Lidls'....'Tescos' yes, but that's about it.
Maybe you should stick to Waitrose.
