McVities (United Biscuits) have now said they'll no longer make Aldi's biscuits for them. They've realised that it's hurting their own brand too much, with Aldi selling much the same thing at a fraction of the price.

really, that's interesting. I can't work out if they have too much sugar or salt in them.

Lidl is closer and their digestives are so much nicer so will continue with that brand

Was doing my Aldi shop today and all the tills crashed! Not sure if it's because they are getting so popular;). Took 5-10 minutes to sort and then they opened every single checkout and cleared them as quickly as possible. Customer service is improving hugely in my local branch. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, not sure if it's a new manager or general staff training policy. I'm a big fan.

Would have been better if they had waved you through without paying though!

Gotta give another big up for Aldi's "Chip shop style" steak pies. Lovely. Just like the ones from the chippy but only £1 for 2. An absolute bargain.
I've been avoiding those on the basis that something that cheap simply can't be any good. However, following your recommendation I thought I'd give them a try. I'm afraid to say though that I thought they were truly awful, so won't be having them again!

Lidls Harvest oven chips are the best ive ever tasted, better than McCain or Aunt Bessies.

Shhh.... there'll be a rush on them. I buy those as they're cheapest at £0.67 for 1Kg (or it might be 900g) - AND they're good. Then I really pig out on them because [a] I don't have a freezer I'm a pig. I'll eat the whole packet across my next four meals.... eating "chips and something" twice a day for two days :)

What I tend to do is buy them when I can get a Pukka pie for £1 at a supermarket, then I'll have:

    - Pukka pie/chips/mushy peas (half a tin)
    - Chips/mushy peas
    - Chips/curry sauce (Asda instant granules)
    - Chips/cheese omelette

Poster who feeds dog chicken thighs

Actually this is a money saving concept as it could prove cheaper than buying supermarket dogfood and healthier for the dog or cat.

I feed my dog Chicken thighs and Lamb Mince with mixed veg, used to buy her the Caesar dog food, she much prefers the chicken and Lamb and it is much cheaper, it is also much healthier!

The "Chunky" version of these are particulary good. A bit more expensive than the normal version , but worth it in my opinion
