Btw I bought a load of Lidl facial moisturiser @99p about a month ago when it was on a weekend offer - on the basis that the stuff from the Poundshop that has the Garnier "look" about it does the job more than adequately - but haven't yet tried it.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I bought some kitchen strip lights from lidl to replace some of my ikea ones.
They are fab quality & I'm desperately hoping they will stock again, as I want to swap the remaining ikea ones!0 -

I think the eye cream was about £4 and it comes in a lovely little applicator so that you don't waste any. I'll definitely be stocking up when it comes round next.
I have used the Lidl (and it's fine) but now go to Aldi's more often so use their moisturiser. I've got a jar of the Aldi's 'Expert' moisturiser ready for when I run out. It was an extortionate £3.99 I think!:rotfl:0 -

The milk in our local Aldi has a date of 12 days usually when I buy it and occasionally I have a pint or 2 left after the date its fine for another day or two.
The f&v from our local Aldi is a bit ropey and I'd only buy it if we are using it that day. Visited an Aldi in a nearby town f&v so much nicer looked fresher, was better stored, larger selection. I decided to have another go and l was not disappointed anything that has not already been consumed has lasted over a week. A very good question. On the milk, ours is normally just 6 or 7 days now (used to be 10 or 11), and the fruit and veg is invariably poor quality.
If Aldi want to continue attracting the high-spending middle classes they're going to have to up their game considerably.0 -
Grrr! but pack of 2 Lidl lamb steak in the microwave to defrost before cooking, as I often do with stuff like this I just pierced the plastic film on the plastic tray and shoved them in on defrost. Come back and had to chuck them, hidden under the New Zealand label was a metal security tag. Its fried and coated the meat in vapourised metal. These are what £3 to £4 from memory? its just sad they need to hide tags on something like that these days!
Sausages anyone?0 -

Personally I haven't had a major problem with my local Aldi or Lidl. OK, Aldi carrots have been wet some weeks so I've made sure they are dry before storing them. Definitely no worse than veg off the market. I've never had a problem with milk. I buy 2 x 4 pts (2l?) a week and it always lasts fine.
But I anticipate that if quality drops or prices rise then everyone (not just middle classes) will vote with their feet. If there's one thing we've learned from the recession, it's that the days of conning us are over.0 -

The eye cream was on Specialbuy a few weeks ago, but hopefully they will have it on again. The only eye cream they have at the moment is the caffiene roll on and I don't get on with that one.
I bought three and I think it was £2.99, possibly £3.49. Really cheap anyway for what is an excellent product.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again...
