I've just realised what Aldi's 'Fresh Linen' reed diffuser smells like....cheapy Izal toilet paper, which my gran used to buy about 45 years ago; and certainly not linen.0

I bought the Aldi version of Soren malt loaf last week and it was sooooo delicious - much nicer than Soren I thought!! I also bought the multivitamin juice with carrot and that was lovely.Jane

The scented Christmas tea lights ,sold by Aldi , don't let out scent once lit, though they do retain the sparkly cover to the end.0

I won't buy lean steak mince from Lidl now. It used to be very nice, but the last lot I bought I had to throw away. One member of my family had to bin hamburgers they had made because something just didn't taste right, so now we all avoid the mince.
I like their food generally though.0 -
Aldi -
Cheese, Milk, Yogurts & Ham all very good.

Aldi are doing limited edition chinese stews, £1.49 for a large can, theres 3 different types. I didnt buy these but I bought some packets of black bean sauce for 39p each, there are also limited edition thai green curry crackers for 59p. 500g of wholewheat pasta is 59p.
Quite a lot of limited edition food stuffs in my local aldi just now.0 -
Duncan's chicken broth, in Aldi's Scottish foods promotion, is lovely. It could pass as home made, as the carrots are sliced ( not the usual diced) and ingredients like peas, onions etc are clearly visible.0

I hope you don't mind me jumping in on this but I work for a tv and digital media production company called Twofour and we're currently looking for people to take part in a series of films we're making for The British Heart Foundation called 'Healthy Eating on a Budget.'
Do you have a lot of mouths to feed and would like to make your weekly food allowance stretch further? Are you a shift worker snacking on high salt packaged foods which ultimately costs more? Do you and your partner eat take-aways or ready meals because you feel you can afford to cook?
We are offering a filming day with an expert dietician who will offer advice and devise a plan to help you eat a healthier, varied diet and still save money - whether it be better planning with your lists, knowing where to shop or getting some staple recipes under your belt.
We are looking to film at the end of February and these films will go up on the British Heart Foundation website. If you feel anyone you know might be interested then please pass on my contact details.
We are looking for people all over the UK.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best Wishes,

Hi eveyrone,
I've been away from these forums for a while but happened upon this thread whilst looking for opinions on Aldi meat. I will be following this thread with interest as I have just switched to shopping at Aldi. I still shop at a certain large supermarket for some items but am gradually switching as I find what works.
So far we have had success with:- Orange juice with bits, only a bit cheaper but just as tasty
- Tortilla wraps, a lot cheaper and tastier than other supermarket own brand
- Premium ham, much cheaper and just as good.
- I love the Super 6 veg, in fact all the veg works out a lot cheaper and better quality in my opinion.
- Cheddar - Much cheaper and just as tasty.
- Brie - ditto.
Right, I'm off to Aldi! :T0
