Waste of space Aldi Multi/ pressure cooker. I scalded mself first time I used it, and 4 months later it's completely failed.

    Just don't...

Drat! I have one in the cupboard. I bought it because the Pilau rice is fine.

Why don't you take it back and get your money refunded?

    Hi eveyrone,
I've been away from these forums for a while but happened upon this thread whilst looking for opinions on Aldi meat. I will be following this thread with interest as I have just switched to shopping at Aldi. I still shop at a certain large supermarket for some items but am gradually switching as I find what works.

So far we have had success with:
    • Orange juice with bits, only a bit cheaper but just as tasty
    • Tortilla wraps, a lot cheaper and tastier than other supermarket own brand
    • Premium ham, much cheaper and just as good.
    • I love the Super 6 veg, in fact all the veg works out a lot cheaper and better quality in my opinion.
    • Cheddar - Much cheaper and just as tasty.
    • Brie - ditto.
We are easily saving £10-£15 a week just by making small changes and I thought before that we were being pretty good!

Right, I'm off to Aldi! :T

If you've got the time, buy the gammon joints and cook them yourself. At £4 per kg they're way cheaper than the ready cooked ham and delicious. I have a meal with them, make soup from the stock and then slice and freeze leftovers for sandwiches/another meal.

I do mine in SC so hardly any cost for cooking.

Second that as I've recently started doing it myself. Bought XL 1.2 kg joints on offer in Lidl for £3.99 and just simmered them with carrot, onion, celery and peppercorns, plus any herbs if you have them. You get lovely cooked ham at a fraction of the price you pay for ready sliced, and without all the added water too. A joint lasts me ages

I have bought loads of household /white goods at both Aldi and Lidl, never had a problem with any, they will exchange refund no arguments if you have a faulty item.
Do I need it or just want it.

Same here, never had a problem with any of my Aldi Specialbuys.

Hopefully your local newsagent still has a copy or two of The Mirror.

As well as the £5 voucher there are:

    50% MOCs for

    Extra Strong Mints (now 49p)

    Polish/Multi Surface Polish (now 29p),

Bicarb / Baking Powder (now 34p)

    Strong White Flour (now 37p)

Specially Selected Continental Tarts (now 74p)

    S.Sel. Fishcakes (now 99p)

Jelly Jumble/Fizz Mania sweets (now 34p)

    30% off MOCs for

    Healthy Steam Meals (now £1.04)

    Meat-Free Burgers (now £1.04)

British White Mature Cheddar (now £1.37).

My local T*sco always sells out of the Daily Mirror by noon on coupon days, which is when the local newsagent comes in handy as they usually have some copies left.
