Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Aldi's spray glass cleaner is great0

There's a very good choice on the Aldi Super Six veg from today:
Swede
Baby potatoes 1kg
Onions 1kg
Chantenay carrots 500g
Tomatoes six
Butternut squash each
All priced at 49p
Copied from Butterfly Brain's post on the 'Feed a Family for £20' thread. There's a really quick turnover of the Super 6 products, which tend to be better quality than some of the other veg as a result.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I have been unfortunate to be stuck behind a customer returning two items (the only till open too) at Aldi and have to fill in paperwork! If the items are under £10, the normal staff can refund. Both items were over £10 - a baby bottle warmer and fishing waders!
Needless to say, I gave up and walked out the store, leaving my £18-20 of shopping on the conveyor belt.
How churlish and inconsiderate , somebody would have had to remove your stuff , thus prolonging the wait for other people in the queue.

Tried the large jars of pickles at Aldi & they are awesome!
At my usual they sent them back as they were Christmas stock but the other close by still had stock so I got 3 more0 -
My local Aldi had some big reductions on Christmas stuff...Gosh I was tempted! I did get some plain chocolate marzipan hearts, which will be gifted and some very posh salted nuts, which won't be.
They had 'funsize' pears (Conference) which were actually the usual size and great value at 95p a bag. Lovely clementines at 89p, British Gala Apples at £1.09, British Cox's at 89p. A massive family pack of mushrooms at £1.49.
Can't remember if I've mentioned the chilli con carne cooking sauces before now - (69p a jar) I use these with their Quorn mince, prefer the hot one, which isn't too hot. If you prefer a larger portion to feed more than 2 people, the packet chilli con carne mix at 25p (add your own mince, tomatoes and kidney beans) has a really good flavour too.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I've never really looked at the freezer items in Aldi but am going to use the voucher in next week's press so was wondering if there's anything suitable for vegetarians particularly worth trying?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Would say I'd send you a square from mine, but it went in one sitting :eek::eek::eek: I can normally wrap and wait, but not with that beauty.
And I opened my last pack of THOSE mince pies at teatime...still taste as good as the first.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
