  • I've not been too impressed with the aldi bagels, which is a shame as all their other bread products I've tried have been excellent - in fact I hate buying any loaf that isn't their white toastie

I'm sure this has been said before, but Lidl's coke really is good. I was drinking the coca-cola the other night without realising it, I thought it was Lidl's!

I'm newish to Aldi/Lidl, so finding good things slowly.
Aldi's jams are generally good, especially like the Grandessa Sour Cherry conserve, far superior to the watery own brands of others. Think it is 99p for 450 grams.
Maribel jams are good from Lidl, all of them are good but the apricot and the blackcurrant are excellent. 89p I think.

Agreed. I've tried nearly all the own-brand Cola's and thought they were all vile, Soda Stream-quality rubbish. Even Aldi's.

Incredibly, Lidl's 40p (ish) for 2L Cola (Freeway, I believe) is almost identical to proper Pepsi. Another bargain found. Ker-ching!

Lidl Campo Largo Chick Peas are excellent. fer 32p I think.
Lidl Nixe Sardines in Sunflower Oil, tasted nice but tin seemed 40% oil, wonder if I got a duff tin, will try another before deciding on this one.
Lidl Dijon Mustard (Duc Du Coeur brand) but fab at 37p

Hi guys it is my first post in this thread and I would like your help. I have been shopping in Aldi before and I am really happy with most of their products I've tried. As it is a bit of an trip for me to get there, I'd like to know in advance if I could get the stuff I need from there , cheaper than some other shops which are nearer to me. As a student I need to research to stay on budget haha.
Anyways my boyfriend has a birthday coming up and I am being the most super person ever and organising him a surprise party, he has no idea cus I know none of his friends (have been a massive facebook creep with his friends lately hahah).
    So... things I need...
champagne or sparkling wine to add to a punch
    (frozen or tinned) berries
any other alcoholic beverage (vodka, schnapps..)
crisps (preferrably a huge packet filled with crisps rather than one big filled with mini ones)
    cauliflower
    carrots
    brie
    disposable cutlery and plates
    napkins
also out of aldi topic but does anyone know where i could get an orange/ginger wig, (not too expensive though), its a banter thingy, cus my boify is ginger :).

I cant comment on the prices but you could use mysupermarket.co.uk to see what the top 4 supermarkets charge for what you need.

I do know that Aldi dont do the plastic cutlery, plates and napkins.

What kind of schnapps ? Peach so like Archers or Apple ?

The wig try ebay, just seen 1 for £2.69 or for £1.90 you can get a SCOTTISH Mens Scots Tam O Shanter Fancy Dress Costume Ginger TARTAN HAT & WIG

Its isnt totally clear from the original post , but I believe the question is "can I get this stuff from Aldi and for how much ?" , rather than "what would be cost at big supermarkets ?"

Yes I understand what you mean but mysupermarket is useful for finding the cost of the cutlery, plates etc as Aldi dont sell them.
