Check the t&cs of the account(s) you want to include.
The following is from Abbey but I think a lot of the other banks now include something similar:
17.3 Account Aggregation Services
Account Aggregation Services allow you to have the details of all your accounts, from all financial institutions, presented on one internet web page. If you use the services of an Account Aggregation Service Provider, which may or may not be a bank or other financial institution, you could be liable for any fraud or mistakes that happen on your Account.0 -
I just signed up
I used a Isa with a 3 pound balance as my 'other' account!
What is the worst someone can do? Nick my 3 quid or deposit some money :-)
Thanks, as egg didn't bother to tell me, they should sack their advertising agency!

Cahoot recently sent Email, stating they would not be held responsible for their accounts being linked to outside money managers. ( or words to that effect)0

We have all come across the term "Having all your Eggs in one Basket"
Take the £10, cancel Egg Money Manager, and then delete the ActiveX, before Egg, or someone else takes your money.0 -

credit-card-tart wrote:So what happens when someone breaks into Egg's computers, you are then giving them ALL of your details from ALL of your accounts.
RESULT: All of your money disappears, and with Banks not providing you fraud protection when you open up all of your accounts up to third parties, and NO WAY of getting your money back.
I feel I should reply to this, and maybe other posts on this thread. before I start, Im not a big manager at egg, far from it actuallybut I have worked there for 5 years and know what egg is about.
firstly, egg offers SSL 3.0, RC4 with 128 bit encryption (High) I may stand corrected on this, but this is what security the royal mint use. to say its safe is an understatement.
the only way @ this time anyone could gain access to your accounts via eggs website, is if you were to give someone your login details, now some of you out there may be shaking your head saying nah that wouldnt happen, oh my god!!! you would be surprised!! think about it, does your partner know your security details?
people on trains on mobile phones? in a public place? I still cant believe how many people use the phones at home that are not digital, you know the ones where if you have a basic radio you can listen in on peoples calls?
as for the egg money manager, instead of using conjecture and guessing why dont you read the terms and conditions, which can be found here.
and I will ask IT about firefox as well, as I have heard of this before, im sure something is in the pipeline, and post on here to let you know

eggboy - nice to have an egg staffer on MSE!
I'm sure many here are grateful you're looking into queries.
robonz - egg mention on their site the £10 will arrive by May 6th.0 -
I started signing up for this last month when Egg first put the offer up. If you read it carefully, they do warn you to check the terms & conditions of the accounts you are adding first. I checked with First Direct and they confirmed in writing that you will breach the conditions of any First Direct account if you register it into Egg's (or anyone else's) Money Manager. That's a serious problem - you need to think very carefully before signing up for anything like this because the legal implications could be horrific.0

Does anyone know if it possible to unregister for money manager if you already have it?0
