Am I missing something? When I try to register it goes to a log-in screen and as I haven't got a password it won't let me in.

From what I understand with Egg's Money Manager, you enter your other bank/credit card details, INCLUDING USERNAME AND PASSWORD, and whilst using Egg you can then view all of the money from ALL accounts.

Your understanding isn't quite right - the usernames and passwords are stored on your PC, in an ActiveX application (which is why it's Internet-Explorer only [which is why I'll stop using it as soon as I've got my £10]).
So what happens when someone breaks into Egg's computers, you are then giving them ALL of your details from ALL of your accounts.

Someone would have to break into YOUR computer for that to happen.

Your account details for other banks are only stored on your own PC (encrypted), not on Egg's servers.

I added an account but had to do so via IE6 as Money Manager does not recognise firefox. Sent Egg email to ask them to have a look at this.

They won't do anything, they've decided we aren't good enough for them. This is the reply you'll get from Egg:
Egg Money Manager is currently only available to PC users running Microsoft Internet Explorer unfortunately.

When using Money Manager your online security details are safely stored using Microsoft ActiveX, to ensure they cannot be accessed by anyone else. Microsoft ActiveX is only compatible with Internet Explorer on PC?s.

We've undertaken detailed research and believe that ActiveX provides the best solution for the needs of this product. Unfortunately, until a suitable alternative to ActiveX is available then access to Money Manager will be limited to PC users of Internet Explorer.

I pointed out that installing IE was a downgrade from Opera, not an upgrade, as purported on their site (when I log in to Egg the Manager now nags me about IE on every visit rather than just on the Manager download page!).

I would suggest that everyone only uses this service for accounts they don't really use.

A £10 "gift" from Egg is an extremely cheap way to gain access to people's bank balances, outstanding loans, credit card balances, etc.

Call me cynical, but I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole.
