Thanks for letting us know what's in and around the hotel. I am staying there in March for 5 nights - I got the offer last time around :)

For under 30's and those young at heart I'd recommend checking out Green and Red tequila bar - they have a happy hour during the week as well and fun bartenders. Then Favela Chic for dancing and an interesting crowd.

Nice info, thanks. hopefully my stay wont be disturbed like yours, sounds you were just unlucky!

I'll be using my £1 stay in London for transit, getting into Heathrow at 5pm after a 12 hour flight and need to get to Manchester somehow - so the hotel will allow a good night sleep before I need to do the final leg to Manchester! and booked my coach up to Manchester for £1 as well with National Express Fun Fare - both brilliant bargains!

This website breaks all margins ''theres no such thing as a good offer''.

Look at that, staying at a £150 a night hotel for a £1, £1 for national express.
We should really think ourselves lucky we are at this site. MSE! Rocks

We have just returned from a £29 stay at The Hoxton - last night - we also stayed there last year for £1 with the first offer. We managed to get the adjoining rooms (double + twin) 326 and 328 for £29 each, so that was a good deal. Unfortunately the stay was somewhat marred by the rude awakening at around 4.30am by the fire alarms set off by some idiot who was smoking in his room! The fire brigade arrived as well!

What was doubly annoying was that it transpired that the hotel has the facility to send a phone message to all rooms saying that there is no need to evacuate the building...but didn't use it - hence people all over the place trying to find out what was going on...

Then our breakfast bags (ordered for 8am) did not arrive and when they did had water in them instead of orange juice and missing bananas from some...it took 3 phone calls to get the bags and then what was missing brought up to our rooms...

The receptionist's attitude to this was not particularly apologetic or explanatory (and it should not matter how much you have paid for the room!) - the manager when told about the breakfast fiasco admitted that the hotel is not often fully booked and as it was Valentine's night the staff had not ordered enough of the breakfast items, so had to go out to local shops to buy extra juice, etc - the water was so that there was some form of drink provided...on the plus side, we did very much enjoy the yummy heart-shaped chocolate truffles in glass bowls on the reception desk the day before!

Having said all that, we still like the hotel and enjoyed our stay in London - the hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the Old Street Tube Station and a 15 minute tube journey (one change) from Covent Garden. You can walk to lots of interesting places from the hotel as well - the Comedy Cafe is very near, for example, and several Asian restaurants. The Monument and Tower Bridge are a pleasant walk away (you can buy combined entry and get BOGOF with train tickets). Spitalfields Market is also nearby and has different stalls on different days. Borough Market is across London Bridge and great for food lovers! Brick Lane Market is on Sundays. The worst day to stay is probably Friday night as on Saturday the local area is dead. The hotel reception has some good little maps of the local area and will tell you how to get to wherever you want to go.

Although we were staying there we could not book the cheap rooms from this new promotion and despite there being Internet access in the hotel, felt that we preferred to go out to staying in just to book another stay! Congrats to those who got a good deal and have a great stay! :T

Oh turns out we where there on the same night then. Everything with out stay was perfect except the fire alarm luckily was back to sleep in 2 mins but didn't actually realise what it was at first and we only had 1 big and 1 little towel between two of us so asked for some more. We got our room for a £1 and where staying on the first floor. Would recommend it and would visit again but maybe not straight away. Oh another plus is they have left luggage so didn't have to pay £5+ at Kings Cross.
