If they can't be trusted to offer a deal at the advertised time it doesn't say much for anything else they might do, or not do.
I shan't get caught again, and I shan't be looking to book any rooms with them again. Travelodge may have their faults, but they're cheap and the booking system isn't fixed.
This wouldn't be an issue if you have successfully managed to book a £1 room. You didn't get one, nor did I and many others, suck it up and stop being a sore looser.
They released the £1 rooms about 20 minutes late. Its hardly false advertising.0 -
No but I assumed that I had missed out, even at 2 minutes past and so gave up.
I had been ready for some time and even left work early so I had the opportunity to go on the internet. I thought it would be pot luck, 500 isnt so many, but I had to try!! At 5:02 I managed to get through and they said the offer was open and yet the price was £59 so obviously I had missed out and gave up. Now I find that isnt the case so I too feel frustrated.
It is hard as a bargain hunter to pay the full price when you know the person in the next room paid £1!
Looks like a pretty good hotel though. I fancy the City Inn in Westminster, but I missed out on the offers there too, I keep searching!! (Which is why it is almost 12.30 and I should be sleeping!!)ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
Managed to get one for £1!
19th June - Going to go down to London to visit some old friends with the OH. Thanks SO much OP, reviews for this hotel are very good!
I don't think it was a con (although i worried it may be by 5:15 and constantly trying) but at 5:20 I got my booking. Guess you just had to be patient, they have the right to apply the £1 rooms whenever they want, it's their promotion and it only says from 5pm, not AT 5pm.
Better luck next time for those that didn't get them, I guess £59 is still cheap for a room in the city.ROCK:staradmin0 -
I'm an unlucky one and didnt manage to get a £1 room - however I have consoled myself with a £26 travelodge room, in London Docklands for a Saturday night - not quite the centre of London, and not quite £1, but still feel its a good deal.Any fool can pay full price!!0

I've been to the London Docklands Travelodge and thought it was nice, yes out of the way but not too bad.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Well done to those that managed to get a £1 room, as posted earlier I decided on a £29 room instead. Would have persisted more, but I'm meant to finish work around 5.15 and was straight off out for a Valentines meal ("sorry hun, was late as I was failing to get us a plush hotel room booked for a quid..." wouldn't really cut it lol)
£29 is a bargain, and the hotel does look really nice. Staying the 25th June for one night, so will look around for any other smiley faces (and if any are clutching tesco/boots vouchers :rotfl:) so will know MSE'ers are out there:rotfl:0 -
Just a side note - when you arrive in the hotel check the shower is working - there was a problem with mine and when I went to have a shower in the morning I couldn't get it to turn on - some man had to come and screw it back together.. making me late.. As the hotel is new they have fancy fittings, but they didn't know that they were a bit dodgy and sometimes don't turn on. Apparently they have to mend them quite often - it only took a minute as the guy knew how to do it, but it's still an inconvenience.0

On the Hoxton website it mentions Brick Lane for Indian restaurants. Has anyone been? Just trying to make a loose plan for where we want to eat. Also, does anyone know where the Turkish restaurant area is in London? I cant remember the name of it.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
