Went to Ashford retail park Boots store mid-morning. Shelves were almost empty, just a few nasty things left that were not even worth the sale price. The sales assistant said that they had virtually nothing to start with and yet there were long queues to get in at 8.30!

I was thinking the same re not even worth the sale price. I was wondering if some of the stuff was literally made and stocked to be put in to the 75% off sale? I can't imagine they sold many £6 mugs or horrible gift bags with tiny products inside for £16

It wouldnt suprise me if the gift boxes are broken down and the individual items sold Chokkers.

Shelves virtually empty now in Swansea, except for a few mugs and mango toiletries.

    anyone been to Norwich?

yup, castle mall first thing this morning :) about 30 people there, abit of pushing and shoving but not too bad :) imagine the shelves are pretty clear now though but they did have lots of stuff, got christmas sorted for next year. They did have lots of mens gift sets that didnt seem to be going and soap and gloary tins :) went to riverside about 2 hours after and the shelves were pretty much empty.

:T Thank you. I went down to my local Boots for 9am. Only me outside & they didn't bother opening up until 9.07am :rotfl:
They didn't even know it was 75% off  So just me & SA's. Got some nice items & so did they :D

Sounds like there's loads of people that buy to sell on ebay......I wonder who, if anyone, actually buys the stuff from ebay?! Don't all these shelf clearers just end up lumbered with a load of stuff they cant get rid of?!

Was in the Hamilton store for about 8.15 this morning (opens at 8.30) and already a lot of folks were waiting when someone came up with a trolley a lady said she would not be allowed in with it as they banned them last year, saw a lot of folk with about 10 of lots of items probably to sell went to lift no 7 set when a man lifted everyone off the shelf (take it there for ebay) but did not to bad with what i got so am well happy:beer:
I agree - I wouldn't pay much for it on ebay, how much money are they going to make? unless they want them all for raffles or something.

lol at the banned trolley people too.:D

lowestoft is practically empty if that helps anyone.
  • Metro Centre was manic. Selves were bare apart from biscuits tins and mugs, but they were still bringing new cages out so it was worth hanging around.
I had a barney with a woman who kept shouting "excuse me" despite there being nowhere for me to move to. An Asian man was squashing people and punshed someone in the face with a box of sanctury stuff.

Hmm, guess so, hadnt really thought of that, but I just dont understand why people have to go so mad, all these reports of people blocking aisles and sweeping literally shelf after shelf straight into a trolley just seems crazy to me.

Why Boots dont put a sensible per item limit on things I dont know. Most supermarkets do with their deals, like max 6 per customer (each deal). Boots could do it per item, surely they'd keep more of their customers happy that way and possibly prevent some of the people who cause problems from bothering to go if they cant get as much?

I got several toys that could easily be sold for 3 times what i paid on Amazon. And think of the price of no7 moisturiser... There is a healthy market in Boots toiletries on eBay, and year round people would appreciate it just being a few pounds cheaper. Some people don't live near a big Boots and so that would be a saving. I don't object to ebayer, but think a limit would be fairer.
