Can you not humour it for entertainment purposes? moodywoody wants to be fwends with jojo.
Just because there is a little child speak doesn't mean it's all preschool mindless twaddle.
Anyhoo lets all be friends
Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine.

It's the child equivalent of the insane woman with the little dog in the Direct Line advert.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I wondered about the title and thought the thread might be about a single dad introducing a new girlfriend to a child! Never heard the expression 'mummy friend' before. Afraid I don't like the word 'mummy' anyway in the mouth of an adult.0

C'mon all let's chill out! I was trying to come up with a short description of the situation that would fit into the title. Maybe I could have come up with something better but hey ho. I'm not going to go around calling my friends with children 'mummy fwends' or whatever, it was just the title of the post. I'm so sorry if I offended or upset anyone....actually no I'm not, it's you I feel sorry for for getting so easily bothered about something so insignificant!0

Some interesting discussion on defining women purely by their roles as mothers. It's something I struggle with to be honest. I'm having a baby this year and I must admit I'm apprehensive about making new friends with other mothers. On the one hand it might be quite nice to have something in common (I have friends with children but none with babies, and no pregnant friends either).
But on the other hand, the idea of being thrown together with a woman purely because she's given birth at the same time fills me with horror. I'm not the most sociable of people and I can't abide the stereotypical scenes of cackling women getting together and talking about their cracked nipples, perfect children and useless partners. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
But I definitely think Jojo's got a point. The language we use is important and reducing women to little more than wombs is a very dangerous thing to do. It might seem harmless but the connotations can be far-reaching.
On a similar vein I really struggle with the 12 - 24 week pregnant thread when people talk about finding out the sex of their baby. They have Team Pink and Team Blue. It incenses me! What's wrong with Girl and Boy? If I have a girl I'm definitely signing up with that anti-choice campaign pinkstinks.com. I can't abide how pink is the only option for girls."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Hope it goes well and you end up with a great new friend.
It really is like dating isn't it! I'm in a similar position myself, was to have been meeting a fellow womb today,
but she pulled out at the last minute, due to dodgy tummies... :undecided 0
