((hugs)) to those of you in need, sorry to see so many stressed-out ladies! :o

I'm afraid I feel a bit sorry for myself today though, too!

Good news is, baby is no longer breech! :j Bad news is, after being enormous, it seems to have stopped growing...or at least has not grown very much since last scan. So now I have to go to the hospital twice a week to monitor the baby's heartbeat (any idea how long that takes? have to go tomorrow morning), have scans once a week, and see the consultant again in 2 weeks. :(

I'm not desperately worried or anything, because I'm sure they're being over-cautious, if anything, and my instinct tells me everything is fine. I just feel a bit disappointed that I'm not having a nice normal pregnancy these last few weeks. Plus, selfishly, it's a right pain having to fit all these appointments in around work etc! Luckily I finish on thursday, can't wait. Also I have a rotten cold, really sore glands, and a mega-coldsore that is now infected and the size of a 10p piece :( Looks so revolting. Went to the docs this morning and am now on antibiotics, so I'll probably get thrush too just to make me feel better...!

On the plus side, my loft now has a loo, a basin, shower, and radiators! :D

Feeling others' pain in terms of frustration at hospitals, too. My scan was an hour late, then I had to wait another hour to see the consultant, who spoke to me for literally 5 mins, if that.

Right, moan over, sorry guys :o

I'm off to make some dinner, then veg in front of the tv in my PJs with my blankie(!), and some rocky road that I made earlier :p

    BB x

I can't keep up with this thread. lol.
I've started waking up, fully awake - at stupid hours. This morning was 5.30 am....I'm so horrendously tired right now and desperately trying to stay awake to make it to bed at a suitable time. Otherwise my sleeping pattern will go nuts and I will no longer function at work.

I've tried naps, but then I sleep through my alarm. Grr. Still, I know lots of you have much bigger complaints.

BB1984 the monitoring I've had done is a ctg - the bands around the belly like on OBEM. Takes about 20 mins and I love it!!! The machine has a speaker so you can hear baby's heartbeat, and if they wriggle you can hear the swooshing sound as they move around.....I was in hospital for hi blood pressure, and without fail every time I had the ctg and they did my BP, it had dropped right down - its so lovely to just listen to what bump is up to in there :)

lots of stress on the board - hope things are calming down for people.

feeling very pregnant at the moment (29 weeks).....god only knows how i will feel near the end. going away to brussels and bruge next week for 4 nights by eurostar, i am worried that pregnancy will spoil things but i guess i will just have to take it a bit easier than usual.

re weight - i have now put on a stone and a half - i have another 11 weeks to go, so i am guessing i will definately go over 2 stone. most people i speak to say they put 3 stone on in pregnancy.

anxious to get my iron levels tested to see that they are going up but i have only been on supplements for a week, so dont think retest will be for a few more weeks yet.

i am wondering when i might have my first braxton hicks as my book says normally you feel them from week 30.

i have different thoughts about the boy/girl scenario - i am ok with either sex but i have my mum and sister wishing me to have a girl (no pressure then) where as i have always felt more comfortable with boys. it will be very exciting to find out at the birth.

my OH is at Daddy Natal class at the moment, so will be interesting to hear what he has learnt when he returns :)

    Big ((hugs)) BB.

We've finished putting up the baby's furniture, it's a bit of a tight fit in hs room but I'm sure he won't mind. Just got to get some nice storage boxes for the shelves and all the bits and bobs that we will need in there. Also need to some decoration for the walls, probably in the form of those big wall stickers.

    xx

I got some lovely felt and buttons and pompoms animal stickers (slightly 3D so not flat) in B+M to brighten up one of the fitted cupboards in Erin's room... then stick on mirror stars for the other cupboard - I'm biased but I love the room now it's done!

As for Braxton Hicks - I never got any at all.

We're off to see granny and grandad being made mayor and mayoress tomorrow - wasn't expecting to make it there with being due 22nd May but sonce she came when she did... my mum's desperate to show her off!

Hey all, not had much chance to read back but hugs to everyone feeling down.

Today has been carp. My knee is swollen from my fall yesterday and my OH team told me to call my MW as I don't know how I fell (black out/ legs gave out etc), pretty sure I didn't black out. Anyhoo, they thought I had a haematoma(sp?) in my knee and MW wanted me to go to delivery suite for anti-d as a precaution so had 3.5 hours there this pm. My leg and both arms are aching but baby is kicking like mad!

Very very tired, didn't get home until 7 and my nan has been admitted to hospital today too as she is very confused and generlly poorly at the mo, but at least I can pop in and see her in the morning when I get to work. I'm hoping for a less eventful second half of the week!

  • Well good morning all!!
Hope everyone is ok this morning.
    Just catching up from yday!
MissMoney thanks for your help re:mobility. There's a local red cross who I emailed, but I'll def look into our shop mobility here, I know there's one in town. My mum joked about getting an electric scooter. Not sure if I'd be safe whizzing around on that lol.
MissMonkey I'll look into that website later, might make me hungry lol. I'm a snacky person rather than a three meals a day person which I think means sometimes I munch too much :(
Ikkle hope your feeling better today. Glad you've got one bit of your delivery sorted. Hope you get somewhere with getting your 20 week scan booked. I'm sure you'll look lovely at the weekend, although I know what you mean if they are going to be dressed up like that. I have no suggestions really on an outfit I'm afraid. Enjoy your cuddles later.
Triangle hope you're not too sore today after your mammoth painting session. At least it's one job finished. It's so easy to overdo things.
Turtlemoose not all of us nurses are nasty honest, nut jobs maybe ;) but I know what you mean some I'm not sure why they chose a "caring" profession when they clearly don't give a damn. There are some of us there are nice and really love looking after people and aren't too bad at not loosing paperwork. Although there's far too much paperwork where I work IMHO. Well done on gleaming yourself up. I'm going away on Monday inc a spa and realised I missed my last pedicure appt as I wasn't well so am going to have to tackle cutting and painting my toes  any tips?
Although I never understand why everything runs so late in hospital. I once had a 9am appt (not baby related) the dr arrived the same time as me so she was there. I see them having their coffee etc and I didn't go until half nine I was first on the list. Why make me get up at the crack of dawn if you're not gonna see my at 9? Tell half nine then I can also enjoy a cuppa!! Grrrrrrr :(
SM thank you, the dream was kind family/emotional. But I'm ok now :) hope you're ok and your mum has sorted her problem out
BB great the baby has turned!! Me being daft again, but surely babies do grow at different rates like children? Maybe yours grew a bit quick and now is having a rest? But at least you'll get a weekly peek at LO :) hugs for your cold, hope it goes soon, sounds rotten.
Twinklie I sympathise with the odd waking up times. I've always been a on/off sleeper though so I've no good advice. Hope you had a good night last night.
Emsbet sounds like you're really sorted, any pics of the room? I'm really nosey ;) I've drawn a floor plan of ours and that's about it
Dizzi sounds lie it'll be a wonderful day for your family, hope it goes well. Next time I'm in town I'll look in B&M for stickers too.
Gemma hope your feeling better today, hugs for your knee too. Hope nothing serious with your nan, maybe something like a urine infection? Can really make the oldies go a bit mad and unwell.

Well I've been awake since about half one so gave up trying to sleep.
Well ready for weird dream of the night? Well I was in a pub and there was this guy I was trying to impress, have no clue who I don't really remember him now. Anyway I was obv thinking of this work I have to do, cos I was telling him how clever I was as I wanted to print lots of journals off and I had hacked the pub's wireless Internet and printed loads. I was sat in the pub on a comfy sofa next to a big printer. I meant I've never seen a pub with a printer in it. So then off I went with my big wad of paper and got on the bus home. Any dream interpreters here? :rotfl:

Hope it's a better day today, seemed to be lots of stress for lots of us yesterday. Well the sun appears to be shining so that's a good start. Off to read one final document then I should be able to finish the "masterpiece" today yay!!! :D

LMM I do have some pictures, I'll pop them on in a bit when I make it downstairs as i want to make them a bit smaller so I will need to be on the laptop to do that as I don't think you can edit in photobucket on the iPad.

I had another night of tossing and turning from side to side and then trying to prop myself up into a sitting position. Sitting up helps my hips but then it made my back ache. I was thinking of going swimming today but then I realised its a 35 min walk each way! If I do all that walking plus a swim I'm going to be in agony later. DH gave me money for a taxi but that kind of defeats the object of me finding something cheap to do as a taxi there and back will triple the cost. It's general swimming all day so maybe I'll see what I feel like later. I really want to go but the distance is making me not want to *sigh*

Labour vibes to the boldies and anyone else who wants them.

    xx
