Oh no! It seems to have stopped now, I may have to make a mad dash (or the pregnant woman equivalent) for it.

    Afternoon ladies.

I'm back from my exam invigilation -stupid exam office put me up on the stage on my own with the extra time boys (I'd told them I'd deliberately only said I was available for exams 1hr30 or less, and didn't want to do lone invigilation in case anything happened due to being pregnant eg fainting etc - exam with extra time = 1hr53 mins long and I was left on my own up on the stage for the last 23 minutes when everyone went back to the other building). Not too happy about it really as I'm sure this wouldn't be advised if they did a proper risk assessment - what if I'd fallen off the stage cos I'd got dizzy or something?!

Anyway, I got out of the exam to find my Mum has left me a voicemail saying she wants to meet up, so waiting to hear back from her when she finishes at her doctor's appointment. ETA: She's just called ringing me to ask for support as she's having a tough time at work with a colleague, and asking me to look over something she's written! How silly of me to think it may be to talk about yesterday! smiley-rolleye0014.gif

LittleMissM - hugs for your bad dream - my dreams have been very disturbing and vivid recently too (including one about a child who had been sexually abused and then died - think I must be watching too much Law & Order SVU). I hope talking to us or someone IRL has taken some of the trauma out of it.

A massive thank-you2.gif to all of the following people for your support and friendship since my post this morning (LittleMissM, fluffnutter, MissMM, mishka and jovi) - it means a huge amount to me that I have people who understand, or who aren't going to shout me down for admitting my feelings.

Hugs for ikkle - I hope you manage to get your hospital to give you your scan - I agree with others about getting your midwife to kick up a stink on your behalf. I would also think about contacting the manager at Babies R Us about your treatment by that delivery phone person.

Turtlemoose congratulations on being able to beautify yourself! I'm impressed! I'm finding it hard to put my socks on already, and I only have a tiny bump. Sending chocolate on its way to you for your other stresses.

Triangle well done for managing to do all of that painting - pampering is definitely needed as a reward now! Hugs for the tiredness.

Moon will be home from work soon, so looking forward to cuddles (and of course having someone to wait on me hand and foot ;)).

Hugs to anyone I've missed who would like one, and labour vibes where appropriate.

If I were a complete bitch, I'd be tempted to tell her she was acting like a spoilt child and creating a scene and a drama, and let her draw her own conclusions from that... :D

Thanks SM, I actually emailed a complaint over and a lovely lady has since rung back and my cot will be delivered on the 28th May now. Still not sure where the rest of the order is though as NightFreight don't have a decent website. x

Much calmer now than I was earlier, really tired and not looking forward to spending hours in the hospital bored tomorrow morning, good thing is after my appointment I'm meeting my best friend and taking her 10 week old little girl off her hands for an hour while she has her hair cut and then we are all coming back to mine for an hour or too cos my OH wants his Charlie cuddles too :) x

sexymouse just keep telling yourself you have every right to feel the way you do, and those feelings are valid! When i found out Maddies sex at her scan i was dissapointed she wasn't a boy and i "grieved" for a bit. As soon as she arrived i forgot about the little boy i had been wanting and just enjoyed her :) had this baby been a boy i would have been dissapointed again 'cos i so wanted another girl! so every time you feel down or have someone say something stupid about it to you.. give yourself a hug on the inside and tell yourself "these feelings are valid, it's ok to feel like this" and then say to yourself inside or loudly and on the outside :D "your comments aren't welcome you are a bogger!" :D
Ickle I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles with the scan. you do have a right to an anomlily (sp) scan and having growth scans later on isn't really a jolly now is it?! i'm mad for you  BIG (((HUGS)))

Have to agree about hospitals being awful at paperwork. mine managed to lose all record of my referral between sending me for a blood test and sending me a clinic appointment! Another balls up today, consultant sent me a new prescription to change my thyroxine dosage but neglected to write hiw many tablets to give me so pharmacist could only give me 5 days worth.

Littlemoog I used to think that medical staff were to be admired - while I'm sure there are some great ones out there - my current personal experience is a "couldn't care less" attitude. If I behaved in my job the way I have seen several NHS staff do, then I'd soon be hauled up for a disciplinary.

Mind you it always surprises me that the OH's ex is a nurse....she's a total nutjob (I had a thread about it about a year ago), can barely string a sentence together (written or verbal), and is quite possibly the most selfish person I've ever met (consistently puts her own whims ahead of the needs of her child) ......maybe she is the norm, I suppose I should just be grateful she's not a midwife as I'd hate to turn up in labour and find out she was on shift LOL
