I think they've learnt not to knock on our door as last time OH answered to them and spent 15 minutes trying to convince them to convert to Jedism (becoming Jedi's, not Judaism!) - I think he was bored :rotfl:

last time they knocked on the door (last week) I thought I'd got rid of them... I told them I was a sinner and the baby was the local priests and we are all going to hell in a handcart and why would i want to give up 10% of my income to them?!. no it didn't work.. back again today. They bloody bus them in you know.

OH's family used to be Jehovah's and so when we lived in Ripon whenever one knocked on the door it would end up in a 'hows your auntie? hows your mum' and so on and so forth and take even longer than normal to get rid. We've not had any Jehovah's since moving to Leeds but I think that's more to do with the fact they are too lazy to climb all the stairs to knock on our door lol.

I've just weighed myself and I've put on 11.6lbs in the last 10 weeks  I have no idea what I weighed pre-pregnancy but I think maybe it was about 4/5lbs lighter than at 13 weeks. so that would be a total of about 16lbs, is that a lot at 23 weeks? It sounds a lot! Am I just a greedy whale? :( I really should eat less but I'm so hungry at the moment and I figure if I'm hungry then I need to eat.

My OH always despairs when religious groups knock on the door - not because of them as such but because if I'm in the mood I'll start discussing the finer points of religion with them until they go away stunned ;) Don't generally get JWs around here but we have a nunnery at the end of our street so they occasionally come round but they're good at listening when you say you're not interested and don't generally come back.

My best memory of having JWs knock on the door was a few years ago. I was bored so invited them in - they were slightly stunned firstly by being asked to come in and then because they were faced with a non-denominal Christian, a C of E Christian with gothic leanings and a pagan all of whom took delight in reading out loud the rest of the biblical chapter from which the JW had selectively picked one verse to illustrate a point. Fun times ;)

That sound about right to me Emsbet, my consultant said yesterday they would expect me to have gained around 10lb by 20 weeks. I think the average weight gain for pregnancy is about 30lb. This is based on

    Baby 7-8 pounds
    Placenta 1-2 pounds
    Amniotic fluid 2 pounds
    Uterus 2 pounds
    Maternal breast tissue 2 pounds
    Maternal blood 4 pounds
Fluids in maternal tissue 4 pounds
Maternal fat and nutrient stores 7 pounds

which i got off a pregnancy weight calculator thing where you input your start weight your current weight and how far along you are and it tells you how much it thinks you will gain lol x

Thanks ikkle, I know weight gain is an inevitable part of pregnancy but have no idea what is normal. My sister put on quite a lot with her two as she took the eating for two quite literally and three years after she had her youngest she's still struggling to lose the weight. I know I've been eating a lot of junk lately, I try to make sure I have lots of vegetables with my evening meals and drink fruit juice through the day but I don't have any with my lunch (I plan to change that this week!). It's like all my self control about the amount of chocolate and other crap I eat seems to have gone out of the window! Oh well at least I know I've not gone too OTT with the weight gain so far and so I will try to keep on top of it a bit more.

    xx

I wouldn't fret about it too much hun, as long as you don't go too ott then it shouldn't be too hard to get back off. I'm planning on going back to Slimming World after I've had the baby as it will provide a bit of a social side to my week as well as giving me a chance to get rid of some of my belly. Which isn't bump shaped at all just lumpy at the minute. I've done SW before and know it works and whilst I know I could do SW whilst pregnant but I'm happy with how I'm eating for the time being.

Me and my OH have drunk 2 3litre bottles of cordial in a week lol. Oops.
