23 weeks today :) Another rubbish night's sleep even though I was (still am) shattered. I'm under strict instructions from my DH to not do anything today but relax. I'll probably just vacuum the living room, wash up and tidy some of the boxes away from the stuff we bought yesterday but apart from that I plan on doing very little today :)
Might wonder down to the leisure centre tomorrow and go for a little swim, get some use out of my new swimsuit.

ikkle, at least they are looking after you properly and like you said you get to see LO more :)

    xx

gtothec congratulations :) what a pretty name :) I do hope you recover down below swiftly and you are getting lots and lots of gorgeous mummy cuddles.

Hope everyone is ok. I'm really really fed up now. Im 39+1 and every time i walk there is enormous pressure on my cervix its killing me. I didn't spend alot of time on here yesterday as I spent most of the day trying to sash to the loo  went 8 times between 12-5  I spent the evening bouncing on my ball trying to encorage her to come out but to no avail. Was fairly annoyed at the MW too, she never showed up for my 39 week appointment. I rang the team but it's just an answer phone and no one got back to me  sooo It begs the question who do I ring when I DO need a MW to attend at home?! anyway.. I will have to walk Maddie to nusery in half an hour and do the granny granny gauntlet! I hobble and waddle uo there to have the oap's zoom past me with their zimmers lol.
i watched Game of Thrones last night and then dreamt i was in Game of thrones that was scary!!!

hope spd sufferers are feeling ok today and hugs to everyone else xxxx

Congratulations hun. Hope I don't offend but that name is actually pronounced in Gaelic as ri-oh-na. Like Fiona but with an r. It means queen in Gaelic which is very pretty :)

No I'm not offended. My husband and our families are Irish speakers and Raina is a close to how we say it as I can portray in English.

Have never heard it spoken in the way you describe, but could be down to dialect differences.

    Thanks for the congrats!

Hope I'm reading? Yeah, you bet... Though I must admit that I made a fatal flaw about 10 days ago, and fell behind, all this baby shopping and prep work doesn't lend itself to being stuck to a computer for 24 hours a day reading the 250 posts that are written on here by you lot every single day. Well, it feels like that many anyway!

Random fact of the day. Are you ready? Ok, how many of you ladies have been at the same position in the list as the number of weeks that have progressed in your pregnancy? Given how the list goes, not many, I suppose. But we're in week 33 at the moment, and are 33rd in the list! Eek, we're gradually moving up, is quite scary.

The form has been submitted for my wife's employment tribunal claim, will be interesting to see how that goes. Her new boss wants her to work until the day before she drops but appreciates that it might be a bit much, so has suggested working until the week before. Like that will ever happen...

I *think* that aside from a baby monitor of any kind, we're ready for this baby to arrive now. We have everything we need. Aside from some sunshine to help drying all the clothes, I can't believe how depressing this weather is, and that's even before the bank statements arrive!

Now, I have two final requests. 1) Can you all stop pushing out your babies, please, it's moving us up the list far too quickly, and we don't like it... and 2) If you don't manage to stop pushing them out, please can you use names that we don't like, so that they are not in any way tempting for us to use...?

And some quick things that we can confirm:

    a) iron supplements are evil!
    b) uk spring weather is evil!
    c) varicose veins are evil!
    d) compression stockings are wonderful!
    e) smoking around a pregnant lady is not a good idea (my mum)!
    f) brackston hicks are not the same as constipation!
    g) unborn babies do respond to hearing the dad's voice, even if it's played via speakerphone on a call while both parents are in the office and supposed to be working hard
    Thank you!

It's still dry here for the moment.

I'm so so tired but I can't lie down or sit still for long as my back and hips are sore. I'm trying to look for a birthing ball in the hope that it will be more comfortable to sit on but I can't find any that are particularly cheap online. Will have a look in Tesco later to see if I can find one cheaper there.

    Hi Ladies,

I haven't posted in ages but I have been lurking in the background and reading every day :) I haven't read back yet this morn from yesterday so hope no one else has posted this offer - got an e-mail from M&P, they have up to 75% off their Barnaby Buttons range. Not many items too chose from but hopefully someone will get a bargain http://www.mamasandpapas.com/range/barnaby-buttons/5551/?cm_mmc=Email-_-OFFERS-_-OFFERS_MAY_140512_UK-_-BarnabyButtonsInteriors

Hope everyone is keeping well. This thread keeps me sane and gives me a good few giggles too xx

Congrats Gotothec :j Hope you not too sore and enjoying mummy cuddles, lovely name too :D

Glad you and the missus are ok Whowantstobrich :)I too agree, the weather is pants :p

Emsbet Don't have much to add on the baby books however would second what Kitten said about the Gina Ford Contented book, someone bought it me when I had DS and I found it way too rigid... I ended up ignoring the timings she sets out but roughly following the routine as to follow it in its entirity, you would have to have nothing unexpected happen in your life EVER!! Hope you find one that suits :)

Miss_money Sending labour vibes your way - do you have a triage number you can call if you need a MW despatched?

I started making a list of the things I still need to sort out before baby arrives last night and found out it's longer than I expected :o This mornings job is to prioritise that list so that nothing gets missed as some of the things on it are just things I would like to do but are not essential..

Managed to inform family last night of baby's definate date of arrival, have now sorted out visits from relatives in London - OH's brother wanted to come up on the 9/10th June but I vetoed that as I might not be out of hospital by that point (although I have every intention of getting out within two days, I appreciate that I can't 'control' it if there are any problems).

(((hugs))) to all who need/want em :)

    Jovi x
