I wish my practice offered group B strep screening. I'd bite their hand off if they did.

Why don't you want the tests? They sound reassuring to me.

I am one of those anti medicine types. I refuse any and all things medical without extremelly careful thought before hand. I believe that if I am ill then I will notice. I also believe that pregnancy is not an illness and hate it being treated as such.

fishcake at the end of the day I guess if it's your choice not to have any tests what-so-ever than that's your choice. could you not transfer your care to another midwife? You don't have to see the same one.

Exactly! I'm sure OH thinks I've a illness and wants me to sit pretty lol. Ok I'm on crutches with SPD, but I don't think I'm at death's door!

I have said I don't want a midwife but because I regestered with the dr that I was pregnant I am in the "system" and they cant just delete me off. I will know better for next time lol

you can tell me to mind my own business... but are you planning a home birth without a MW? just interested

It's probably what would happen to be honest. I think that if I can remain calm(ish) and listen to what my body is telling me to do then I will be so much better for it. If something worrying does occur then i would phone for a midwife/ambulance and go to the hospital.

this is my second baby but I've never experienced labour before so yes and no. I'm confident that i can do it though, its what I'm designed for lol

fishcake well good luck Ive had 2 homebirths before one was a textbook delivery the other was a suspected breach (but was a face first presentation) during labour I NEEDED the gas and air lol I couldn't have done it on my own (well I probably could have but I'd have been deranged lol) I found having 2 other women there helped me as they knew what my body was doing even if I didn't (my body knew what it was doing but i didnt the 1st time!)
I'm having my third baby at home too, a water birth. I'm not brave enough to go it alone without a MW though! you're one brave lady!
