I'm feeling a bit strange, starting to get a bit panicky about having a baby, mainly due to DDs birth, but I have no one really to talk to; DH can't/ won't mention the baby at all, MIL/ mum says oh don't worry about it, my BF is 33 weeks gone with her first and I don't want to burden her with my woes, 2 others who I could have spoken to have had their babies in the past week and both have only just come out of NICU. I feel so bloody selfish for worrying as we were so lucky with the outcome of DD birth, but all the same it absolutely terrifies me that something will happen this time/ things won't work out well. I keep telling myself how lucky we are not to have had any problems with fertility and miscarriage like so many other people. Am I being really silly and overreacting? I think maybe the best thing to do is for me and DH to fill as much time as possible over the next few weeks getting things done in the house/ school work done so I don't have time to worry. Sorry self-indulgent moan over!
Hope everyone else is OK and welcome newbies, labour vibes to those that need them xx
its really important to talk about it Gemma - its horribly scary and even more so when you know whats coming!0 -
For those of you having nightmares, have a look at this. My Mum just sent it to me.
Oh my goodness, that made me cry! (I'm an emotional wreck at the moment, everything makes me cry, LOL!) So unbelievably cute, had to share it on facebookBB, B&Q have a bank holiday offer on where if you spend more than £100 you get 20% off, so if you need other DIY stuff too, today might be a good day to stock upHappy painting!
Thanks Nutella! We did actually go to B&Q and bought loads - despite it being 20% off we still managed to spend £160!! gulp. Mind you that was paint for 3 rooms, a stairway and landing, plus primer and top coat for the woodwork etc. Also bought some extra rollers as we have helpers coming next weekend and don't want anyone to be empty handed!Kitten_Pie wrote: »Miss_Money,
I wanted to offer you support. No matter what the situation many go through the 'was this a good idea' moments. It doesn't make you bad but makes you a good mother for wanting the best for your baby.
If I were in your situation I would look into the options of leaving, what rights you have etc. Not that you will use them but to know what your options are will make you feel that little bit more in control.
Has he always been this way or has he changed with the pregnancy. If it is a recent change it may be he is scared, mens hormones change too etc and arguments and clashes can be blown out of proportion with neither side wanting to back down. (Not saying this has happened but just to be aware that it can)
We are all here to support you no matter how things go. Big hugs
^^ what she said! Kitten is very wiseMiss Money, big hugs to you. I have to agree with Elelyn, from what you've said your OH does sound pretty awful
The things he's been saying are so out of order at any time, let alone when you're heavily pregnant with his child! The only advice I'd offer is if you want to talk to him, make sure you wait for a time when you're both calm and not upset - everyone ends up saying things they regret when they're angry/hurt. Feel free to moan on here as much as you like, if it helps
BTW, FWIW, (gosh lots of acronyms going on there!) I think your baby might be making an appearance sooner rather than later....!
Thanks for all the painting encouragement!Didn't get quite as much done today as I'd hoped, mainly because we were at B&Q for blo0dy hours. However, we did an initial undercoat of the nursery and our bedroom, so it's a good start. I'm suffering for it now though, my hips/pelvis are killing me, and my carpal tunnel syndrome is playing up too, can barely bend my fingers
Never mind, I still count myself lucky compared to some of you poor sufferers!
Elelyn, I think that taking the whole of August off sounds like a fine idea! If you can afford the time off, and still have a decent amount of time after the baby's born, then why not? I'm finishing 4 weeks before my due date, and it can't come soon enough, believe me! I have quite a big commute too, and the only reason I've lasted this long is because I've been working from home one day a week, plus had quite a few early finishes etc for various appointments. No point in running yourself into the ground before baby comes, just make sure you've got things to keep you occupied because some people say they get a bit bored... (I'll be busy painting and doing everything I should have done weeks ago!)

Thanks everyone, the highlights of DDs birth including waters leaking from 32 weeks, hospitalisation and steroids then twice-weekly scans/ monitoring, induction at 37 weeks which (luckily) again put me in hospital just in time for full on placental abruption leading to quite a bit of blood loss and a get her out now emergency c-section. I think had I have been at home DD would not be the bright and happy girl she is today (I think I had 20 mins from haemorrage starting to her having to be out). 10% chance of repeat this time, but on aspirin to stop clotting in case this caused it.
On a more positive note found a tankini in mothercare for £7.50 today and couldn't resist, not on the website but its cream and brown zebra stripesBoots: £107.xx on AC :j
Tesco CC: £48.00/ £192 in deals:p
