Bigs ((hugs)) and get well wishes for your LO Flutterby.

My little man has been really quite today I don't like it. I know it's probably because he's moved and hiding behind my anterior placenta (I felt one movement that really high up so that's probably the reason) but I'd gotten used to his little pattern of movements and so it's got me worrying a little.

Emsbet, it is too early to be worried about kicks etc.

But if you are at all worried call the midwife, much better to be safe.

oh no :( Hope she can come home soon flutterby.

Hmm, is there anything that normally make bubs move like a cold drink or jaffa cake? My little man seems to only move when i drive to work or at midnight and always seems to be in same place but now as i started typing, jiggled in an odd place and i've just had crisps so i still have nothing that really makes him wriggle.

  • Flutterby sounds terrible. Hope the scan comes back ok and she's better soon. Must be heartbreaking. Lots of love to you and LO.
Emsbet he's probably just moved places like you said, but I know what you mean when you get used to certain places at certain times. It's hard not to worry though. I can feel lots of fluttering now, but I'm sitting in Ikea waiting for meatballs :D

I know it's too early for counting kicks and things I'm just not used to him being so quiet. Also early this morning when I was lying in bed I had a really sharp pain at the side of my bump that lasted about 60 seconds. That was probably just ligaments but the two things combined are bothering me.
Food of any kind normally makes him wiggle, I've just eaten but no wriggling. I may ring the midwives later, PILs are here at the minute and I don't want to call while they are here.

I know I'm probably worrying about nothing

ooh cripes flutterby_lil - everything crossed for her.

i know from the second they found me leaking amniotic fluid they basically went into infection prevention overdrive and wouldn't even exame me internally after that, so concerned of the risk they were... hence not realising I'd started to dilate.

Emsbet, as you know from my history that any time you are worried about something, check. It is what they are there for and does no harm in calling or getting checked over.

Chances are like most things it is perfectly normal but take a book and get checked.

LMM, I think little man is hoping you'll have pudding as well - I can't imagine he'd get that excited about meatballs! ;) Hope the shopping trip is going well and that you're not in too much pain.

Flutterby, that sounds truly horrible - I hope your LO gets better soon and gets to come home. Will be thinking of you ((hugs))

I've just cleaned our flat from top to bottom and am rewarding myself with what I think is a well-deserved piece of cake! :)

Emsbet, like others have said - it's probably nothing to worry about as you won't necessarily feel movement every day this early, but do call if that'll help put your mind at rest. I had a day like that about three months ago when I'd felt no movement for at least 24 hours - like you, I knew I was probably worrying about nothing, but that didn't stop me from being worried! I called the midwife, who was lovely and reassuring, but also said to come and get checked if that would help put my mind at rest. I went, and everything was fine, but it was worth going - if there had been something wrong and I hadn't gone to get it checked I would never have forgiven myself. After a while, you will find that your little man develops patterns of activity - my LO would kick away like crazy for 5 or 6 days, especially in the evenings, and then have a really quiet day (presumably to get a break and gather some energy for more kicking!) - once I discovered this I stopped worrying on the quiet days... She's now kicking and punching all day every day.

    Hello all,

May I join? I'm a 31yr old mother of three and full time student at a Northern University, who has just found out that I'm pregnant with twins

Being as I am about to jump from three children to five, I am very keen to get any hints and tips for reducing the financial outlay that I am facing at the moment!

My due date is the 12th November, but I have been told to expect them any time from the beginning of October, which should make the start of my final year quite interesting :rotfl:

what a crazy senario, congratulations on your twins:T i think you should be able to teach us first timers a thing or two:)
