Good morning all
Hope everyone got some sleep.
Congratulations Charli
Welcome Cheetara and Betty
Emsbet and Amymo I share your sentiment about seeing real people. We don't really know anyone in our local area and most of our family/friends live too far away to just pop in for an hour or two.
My OH is usually out at work 7-7 so I generally just talk to the cats and the bump. Talking to the bump is meant to help baby get used to your voice and thus be reassured when you talk to them once they've escaped. It's also meant to help you bond. Apart from saying good morning and telling him off on occasion for beating me up I find it difficult to talk to him without feeling silly so I bought a book of nursery rhymes to read out loud. The cats think I'm mad but my sing-song nursery voice seems to get a reaction from baby.
I also try to get to my local children's centre's bump to 1year group so I have at least 3 hours a week of talking to people face to face other than my OH. Admittedly we mostly talk about baby stuff but it's still good to get out of the house.
Emsbet the dress is very prettyThough I understand about not wanting the cost. I've got two wedding receptions to go to next week and I've not got a clue what to wear. I have a dress which may stretch over my bump but think is may be too short. Going to have to have a look this weekend to see what I can find.
Bought a wheeled box for under our bed and a few storage boxes for our cupboards last night from Tesco so now have somewhere to put clothes, bedding and changing stuff for babyOnce I've washed everything and put it away we'll be mostly sorted and my hospital bag will be completely packed
Also bought a small tool box which should be perfect to store nappy changing things - the plan is to have changing stuff upstairs and downstairs to make life a bit easier.
I'm actually beginning to think that we're ready - though I'm wondering whether I'll ever get a nesting instinct to clean the house because at the moment I don't have the energy.0 -
ARRRG why why why when I tried sooo hard yesterday to tiday up and the kitchen and livingroom were spotless, has the mess goblin (dan and the kids) decided to wreck everything in the evening and overnight?1  I fail to see why I can cook and wash up as i go, AND NOT use every plate and saucepan in the house, and yet he has to use the entire contents of the kitchen!! and how can 2 little girls make sooooo much mess when all they seemed to do last night is watch the disney channel carp they call entertianment?!
I have zero motivation to clean any of it up today! and to behonest im not sure how much i could do any way in pain today quite badlybah!
I feel like eating badly today too IE lots of cake!!Bad mother to 2!

The nearest mothercare stores are quite a trek from ours, mishka especially the big one in Manchester. I might see if I can persuade DH it's worth the trip
I'm glad I'm not the only one who talks to bump when I'm aloneI'm the same mrsmanda, I don't know many people round here and I'm planning to go to some mum and bump meetings when I get a bit bigger. Don't feel confident going just yet

Wow... that was a big catch up... about 30 pages!
I hope that everyone is well and having a good Wednesday.
Hello to those that have recently joined, congratulations to those of you who have had your little bundles and hugs to those of you who don't feel well xx
I have a fab list here of fantastic tips for hospital bag, baby clothes, dinner ideas and things to do (dig out the sandwich toaster included on that one!!). I love this forum, plus it helps keep my friends and family sane when I don't talk about Bump the whole time when I see them
Nothing new to report here apart from that DH is away for 2 weeks on a work trip... he left yesterday morning and I was not looking forward to going home to an empty house and cooking for just myself an Bump... then my sister called and invited me over for a fab dinner last night. And I still got to bed at a reasonable time
Does anyone find that going to bed earlier than normal means waking up more in the night, or waking up earlier in the morning? I usually need 8h sleep a night (pre-Bump), but have been feeling more and more tired recently (although of course that could be that Bump is now almost 31 weeks and very lively!). But whenever I try and have an early night, I tend to wake up more, then i'm wide awake at 6am!
What time do most of you go to bed now?
Much love and happy thoughts to everyone xxxx0 -

Went to Tesco yesterday - they were reducing a fair bit of baby clothes - got a little fleecy jacket (in early baby which isn't usually reduced - woo hoo) for a quid, a fleecy pinafore dress for a couple of quid, they had snowsuits in (but not in our size - we need one with the flipping weather we've been having!), and things like packs of sleepsuits (but in gender-specific colours) for £3 from £7.
Looked like a lot more was coming off the rails to get reduced stickers on as well - I don't know what they had for boys but I stocked up on girls 3-6 months (we're pretty sorted up till that point) - little T-shirts and things as well... not amazing and tonnes of reductions but worth a detour down that aisle if you're in-store anyway.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
