  • Sorry you didn't find the flavour at the scan SM but at least all the bits they measured etc were fine. Must be a big weight off your minds.
Emsbet glad all your carpets are down. Must look amazing :)
Miss Money good to hear the pains have lessened and you're feeling a bit better.
Big hugs Rebekah for your hip pain. Hope you're feeling better after some relaxing.
Hope you enjoy your massage Amymo sounds like heaven.
Just been chilling indoors today, althought little bit of sunshine now it's been raining/hailing loads. Have loads of bits of housework to do, but.....it's turning out to be a very lazy day today here.
Hope those on the school run don't get too wet xx

Not yet no. We are definitely holding off buying anything blue until the next one but might start looking around at cots, prams etc as I haven't a clue really. We will be getting a cot rather than cotbed as there isn't much room in the nursery. I know I want a pram that looks like a pram IYSWIM. Car seats are another thing, I really wanted to get isofix as our car has the anchors but we discovered that due to the underfloor storage that is in the back you can't use them as the foot of the base would go straight through the floor in an accident!! Why they bother putting the anchors in I'm not sure?!

    xx

lol that's a bit of an error on the designers part - how useless! IKWYM about the pram, my mum spent ages early on trying to persuade me to buy a stroller/lightweight buggy type thing... I didn't listen lol and we have a huge travel system waiting in the nursery :p I loved the look of the Silvercross prams when I was looking but ended up buying off ebay in the end as couldn't turn down the bargain price of £33 for full system :o I love it though, it looks like it has never been used :D We are putting cot up this weekend, OH is going to finish up clearing the boxed out of nursery and then I can get cracking with the flatpack... can't wait :D

    Hi everyone

Yesterday work told me not to come in for the rest of the week as I was struggling with looking at the computer with my one good eye (this will be a short post as can't spend long on here). And I can't drive with my patch on so can't visit any sites - so basically it's pointless me being there! :p

So today I went shopping with my nan, was lovely :) Went to asda to get some bits in the baby event. Had lots of vouchers for Huggies newborn, so used them to get 4 of the newborn starter kits. Have now got loads of Newborn nappies, probably too many, but they were all free or very very cheap. Also got some breast pads, 2 fitted cot sheets and a waterproof cot mattress protector.

Ooh - DH got a bargain yesterday from someone at his work - 4 gro-bags for £5! :j Two of them have a couple of stains around the neck , but nothing too bad.

Right, must go, eye annoying me.

    BB x

Hi ladies, I haven't had time to read back but hope you are all well.

As you probably know from my status, Katie Elizabeth arrived a week ago today. She's only 4lb 7ozs so we're feeding every 3 hours and she's struggling with breastfeeding so I'm expressing and cup feeding until she hopefully gets the hang of it. SHe arrived in very dramatic fashion......I was sent for a scan and monitoring at 1.30pm last thurs after her movements had reduced. The scan showed she was very small and the blood flow from the placenta was poor. They put me on the monitor to check her heart rate and they weren't happy with that either so very quickly decided she had to be delivered NOW!!! So we were taken straight to the ward with no bags with us or anything. Things then got even worse as her heart rate was dropping right off and they changed it to a 30mins emergency section which meant she had to be out in 30mins! So 2hours and 18mins after arriving for a scan I had a baby!!! They're keeping an eye on her due to her size and also because there may be a problem with the bones in her head having started to fuse early but they are just going to check her growth in4-6 weeks and then re-evaluate if they need to do anything more than continue monitoring.

So the moral of the story is.....if your baby's movement reduces at all GET YOURSELF TO THE HOSP AND GET IT CHECKED!!!! I left it 2 days thinking she was just slowing down like all the baby emails say they will do in the last few weeks but I was very wrong and if I hadn't gone when I did we could well have lost her!!!

  • Glad she arrived safely and is doing well. How early was she? And are you home now? Sounds like a very scary day. Good you went to get checked, I guess some people don't if they're told movement reduces.
