My cat's a nob. I keep telling him that a baby's coming but he's totally uninterested. I'd get rid of him if I could (a baby's going to be far more exciting!) but, for some strange reason, the OH really likes him and won't let me :(:D

Your way with words is so funny. You crack me up!!

Sexymouse - good luck for your scan today

Gosh Elelyn this sounds heavenly compared to what I have to do for my diabetes test! Mine is on 21st May at the local hospital, I can't eat before and can only have water. Then at the hospital they give me a sugary drink then I have to wander around the hospital for 2 hours (without eating or drinking) then return to have the blood test. Sounds awful!

Blimey! I don't like the sound of that. I think that is the next stage if my blood test this week comes back high (which hopefully it won't).

Good luck for your scan today Sexymouse. I'm quite sad I won't get another one now...

My squirmer's got hiccups at the moment. He/she's really low down and it feels like my fanny's rhythmically pulsating :D

  • Bah, I have to go shopping and would really rather not go out in the rain :(

Better to get it over and done with now than leave it any longer, will go to Asda and check out the baby event ;)

    Catch you all later :)
  • Talking about protective cats - I have two moggies and they insist on climbing over bump and quite often sitting there too! I have to keep shifting them to the side cos it's just not comfortable! My tabby cat doesn't have a clue what's going on (he is only interested in food) but he did claim the baby car seat that my friend dropped off as his own within about twenty seconds. My other cat (called Monkey) has slept with me for ages now, but since I have been pregnant she is even more attentive. When I was really ill during the first trimester she made a point of stopping with me. Even if I get up in the night now, she stretches, walks me to the bathroom and then walks me back to bed! She's very funny, I'm hoping that they both take to baby when she/he comes along!

Very excited this morning, ordered the mamas and papas zoom pushchair! Who-hoo! Found a lovely website www.babyequipmentcomplete.com and they do next day delivery for free on orders over a certain amount. They'll also text or email you to let you know the hour window in which your delivery will be made!

Good luck SM with the scan today!

Thanks for the well wishes - lovely to hear all of your pet stories too. My cat isn't the brightest either having been run over twice (think he's slightly brain-damaged now), but in some ways he seems to be quite clever. He is a complete Mummy's boy though, and always has been.

Well I'm back from a somewhat successful, and somewhat unsuccessful scan.

Positives: Baby has no signs of spina bifida (Moon's sister died from this), has a good skeleton and digestive system, the correct number of legs and arms, good head shape and size etc. :T

Negatives: The baby is too tiny still to see the heart clearly enough, so we have to go back on 11th May for another scan; the room was different this time, so the monitor was so far away that I couldn't really see any of what was going on, so the whole experience wasn't as enjoyable for me as last time; the sonographer forgot what the gender of the baby was as she attempted the scan twice (had to eat chocolate in between), and had another lady in in between, so I've got to wait another couple of weeks to find out what team we're on.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next scan will be in the original room we were in, as I'd really like to be able to see Bean clearly.

Hope all of the other scans going on this week are successful, and midwife appointments are too.
