  • Morning miss money sorry you didn't sleep well. I understand why you still like taking your little one to nursery, nice that she still mixes with children her own age. I'm sure OH will get the hang of stuff soon.

I'm not sure what to do this morning, maybe a bit of tidying before MrT's delivery this afternoon. Am beginning to stock up of dry foods like pasta and other bits like toiletries and toilet roll for when I'm on maternity leave as well as wipes etc. not sure where it's all going to go yet...oops!

emsbet- the last 2 weeks... lol but tbh it isn't just him that struggles. I'm going to sound awfully sexist but the children who's mum's drop them off get there for brekkie with hair done nicely etc... the kids who's Dad's drop them off are late, in a rush, haven't eaten (and are late by our standards to eat so have to rush :( ) and generally look like theyve been dragged through a hedge backwards lol!! i used to do the hair of some of the girls cos the dads don't have a clue :) lol
I shall get in contact with sammi_bee about the fb page :)
Anyone want a completely nuts brown jack russel?! he's been threatened with re homing 5 times just this morning!! he barks at the dog barking next door and keeps escaping out of non exsistant holes in the fence?! wouldn't be so bad but he wont come back when called (only on walks) and he's picking on his well behaved sister this morning and I think i may throttle him!!!

Well, second day of my maternity leave so I guess I better get going. There seems to be so much for me to do, so I think this week I'll concentrate on:

    1. getting the boxes from the garage sorted out
    2. giving the house a spring clean
    3. sorting out the filing

and maybe if I have time, I'll do some glossing in the room where dd is moving into.

I had to fight for my home birth this time round.. I have frontal lobe epilepsy. I've had it since i was 15 but no one believed there was anything wrong and i was only diagnosed 2 years ago. I have never had grand mal seizures. I kind of go spaced out get de ja vu see and hear things and then throw up (very glam!) i look drunk :o . because i wasnt diagnosed with the last 2 the home births were never a problem. however suddenly everyone was opposed to this homebirth due to being diagnosed 2 years ago. even though i havent had a seizure for over a year, and they dont harm me anyway!!! I went to see the consultant at 20 weeks who said a hb was out of the question cos if i had a seizure i would most likely have a grand mal fit and end up damaging myself and baby... to which i retorted have to actually read my notes??!!! she admitted she hadn't she had assumed what type of epilepsy i had!!!  i put her right and got my hb!! I have panic attacks in hospital so a hospital birth would be out of the question. regarding mess, you wouldnt even know a birth had taken place 30 minutes later :)
right then better take maddie to nursery. nice weather for ducks!!!! :D

Lol miss money, my DH is bald (well virtually ;)) not sure how he'd cope if we had a little girl and he had to do hair! :rotfl: I guess us girls forget that it does take some practice to do these thing :)

Choclover good luck with your list of jobs today :) I need to finish stripping the wallpaper in the small bedroom and paint the top of the "box" in there. Also lots of washing to do.

    Morning all!

Good luck to all the boldies, and hope everything has gone well for natwesty and dashikii.

Glad you had a good time at the wedding gin. Sympathy for the interfering MIL too.

Welcome to the thread Miss Money and kittycat. I'm another one who is often around during the day due to the nature of my job (supply teacher who is basically on-call when needed).

I think if we lived in a detached house that didn't have neighbours that were too close, I'd possibly have a home birth with a birthing pool too - I like the idea of it being more one-to-one care, and also not so many needles and checking (another needle phobic here); but unfortunately, we live in a semi-detached that shares a wall with MIL, who I know will be straight round if she could too (another one who likes to interfere). I'm actually considering not telling her that we've had the baby for a couple of days, but not sure how feesible that's going to be, as once I'm home, I expect she'll hear it through the wall, or see us arriving.

Well I suppose I'd better go and shower and get dressed, as no call for work this morning, but may get one later for the afternoon. I've only said I'm available for today until Wednesday this week, as want to have the day off on Thursday as it's scan day, and Friday, Moon is off work, so hopefully if all is well at the scan, we're going to do some baby shopping.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Morning all,

Just popping in to quickly say hi. Labour vibes to those that need them and hugs to those feeling under the weather. There seems to be an awful lot of colds going around at the moment. Not nice when you can't take anything to help.

It's been interesting reading about peoples experience of/opinions on home births too. I am not a fan of hospitals (too many sick people for my liking!) and always quite fancied a home birth. But when it comes down to it I think I'll need the reassurance of all the medical equipment - and knowing that an epidural is available should I decide I need one!

I am feeling more movements from bump now and DH even managed to feel a kick for the first time at the weekend. It was lovely!

    Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning ladies, just checking in to let you know that I am still here and still seeing no sign of baby's arrival!
I had a sweep yesterday (which was fine and only a little uncomfortable) but MW said my cervix is still fully closed! I'm so gutted. If nothing happens she's coming to do another sweep on weds and if that does nothing I will be booked for induction this weekend.
I'm surprised how emotional I feel about it all. I so want a natural birth and somehow I feel like a failure that it's not happening.
I know either way we should have our baby by this time next week but things just arnt happening the way I thought they would.
Sorry for sounding like such a misery! I know things could be much much worse but I can't seem to get out of the grumps today.
Hope everyone is well and good luck and labour vibes to other boldies and near boldies.
    Xx

  • Morning ladies :)

Hope all has gone well for Dashikii and Natwesty over the weekend and they are both enjoying mumy cuddles

Welcome Miss Money and Kittycat :)

    Huge congrats to Lisa26 :D

Can completely sympathise with the 'home boredom' you were talking about - I was made redundant in January (at 17 weeks) and have been home ever since, have found it really tough after working full time since age 16 (am 31 now!)... I think OH feels he gets talked to death when he gets in from work - have tried explaining that the cats are not great conversationalists during the day :o

My cot is coming today :j Well, not mine but you know what I mean! It's the last 'big' item we had left to get sorted so I think once it's here and up and ready I will feel more settled :) Bumpy is going mad today - he always does on a Monday, I think he must pick up on the chaos and noise on a weekend and wonder where it all goes on a Monday morning after DS goes to school :rotfl:

Am off to get some housework done but will be back later - ((hugs)) to all those with colds at the moment, make sure you rest up as much as possible :)

    Jovi x
