I've had this too MrsE. I read in my pregnancy book that it is a sort of deferred pelvic pain. It didn't really tell you what to do to get rid of it or help it though unfortunately, but I would ask your midwife. Would be interested to hear what you find out.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Afternoon, labour vibes to the boldies, hope you're feeling OK today Charli
Yep another sufferer of the butt cheek pains here, except now at 38+4 it's progressed to me having a flat numb bum when I sit for too long!
We got the Silvercross Surf too, it's at my mums but we might have to get it over here at the weekend to work out how it goes togethergot the black and white one from JL, we paid towards it with our wedding vouchers as the price was
I may have mentioned this already but I just want to meet my baby now! Good luck for tomorrow Laura, enjoy mummy cuddles x0 -
Thanks for your replies.
I will see the midwife in 3 weeks. I hope i'm still not suffering from numb bum syndrome in 3 weeks but i will ask her.

Yup bum pain here too badly. Midwife said its PGP and gave me a sheet of exercises to do for it. Worse for me on walking and shopping for more than an hour. Related to the hip pain and lwoer backache. Said if it doesnt improve I will be referred to physio.0

I've just returned from my physio appointment
The woman was great and I learnt a lot. Especially about breathing techniques, I had no idea that I was breathing in and holding my breath whenever I was lifting my legs or doing something uncomfortable - and that this actually makes the pain worse. I now know that I really need to work on my breathing espeically for labour, hoping my antenatal class in May will give some good tips.
Physio said the condition I have is called PGP (pelvic girdle pain) but I think its pretty much the same thing as SPD, just a different title. I have been given lots excerises, a belt and have another appointment in 2 weeks
Feel exhausted now - time for a lay down with a trashy book....and a pink iced do-nut

I got to meet my new midwife today (we just moved from Ripon to Leeds) she was really nice but couldn't do much as the Leeds notes are completely different to Harrogate notes and she needed to re-assess me as my old midwife left a lot of stuff out or just guessed answers which doesn't surprise me at all considering she turned up to my booking in appt an hour and a bit late anyway. So I now have my booking in appointment next Wednesday at 17 weeks and a whole barrage of forms and things to fill in again but my maternity notes seem a bit posh compared to my old ones. Was a bit gutted she couldn't do it as a normal 16 week appointment and so we didn't get to hear bubs heartbeat but she seems quite friendly and nice so maybe next week.
Also saw new GP who has signed me off for 4 weeks with SPD and I need physio and possibly crutches. I thought 16 weeks was a bit early for that to develop but I already have a condition in my pelvis and he says the two are aggravating things and making it worse and pushing myself will only make it worse too so he's going to ring me later when he's managed to get hold of the hospital to get me a physio appointment as its urgent.
All this talk of weight gain is scary, I'm fat enough as it is and have a severe allergy to bathroom scales lolYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

Another bum pain sufferer here - and I thought I was the only one with this strange problem! I have really, really struggled at work with this. They've even got me a special chair with a memory foam seat but it doesn't seem to help that much. I'm going to ask for a referral to physio when I see the midwife next week as I'm also not sleeping due to back and hip pain at night. I expected to be "blooming" in pregnancy but actually I feel pretty awful most of the time. Still, it will be worth it in the end!0

Not currently pregnant ( that I am aware of) but just thought someone might be interested in https://www.facebook.com/GreenNippers it seems BBC3 are looking for couples with littlies due in the summer to feature in a new TV series.
Hope those with SPD and PGP are doing their pelvic floor religously, sending smooth pregnancy and labour vibes xx
