How long is your travel time to the hospital?DS1 born June 2000

I think the £26,000 limit is for a couple with just 1 child and no child care costs or disabilities. When I first looked me and my husband weren't entitled due to our income even though we will have child care costs, since being awarded DLA for our Daughter we are entitled! Its very complicated, I don't understand the figures at all! Posting on the benefits board is the best idea, some people on there who will be able to tell you what you will be entitled to.
I don't know why they have to make everything so difficult. It's crazy. The rules change year on year and people get so confused. It's normal for people to want to have an idea of what they can get but they make it so confusing.

How is Poppy doing Janine?
I find it mega confusing and I do consider myself quite intelligent!
Poppy is great thanks, been constipated for the past 4 days due to some medication that she is on, but she just did the biggest poo possible and the relieve on her face is very clear! She is still very small (7lb 13oz at 4 months old!) but is gaining weight and her Consultant is pleased so that's the main thing!
Not long for you now, bet you can't wait!!

Just a quickie, baby girl born this morning at 6.25, flew out. Weighing in at 5pounds 5 ounces. She is ok doing well but was low on blood sugars, and her temp was low as well but she is ok now!
Good luck flutterby!

I've got awhile to go yet but like yours my midwife said to wait until you're having 3 every 10 minutes but also to call if I start losing water/waters break so they can make a note of the time.
It may be worth giving the maternity unit a ring anyway, the worst they can do is tell you to wait.
Hope you have mummy cuddles soon0 -
Janine - I'm not even sure the people who set the rules understand them. They just pretend.
Glad Poppy is doing well. Bet she feels alot better now she isn't bunged up.
Yes i can't wait. It seems to be dragging and this last stretch is taking forever. Will all be over soon enough though

Wow I v not logged on for a few days and so much has happened on here!
I ve had a quick glance but need to go an read back properly.
Congratulations Snoopy and Goppers! So pleased for you bothxx
I am finally on maternity leave and enjoying it so far. Its kind of a strange time as I feel that we are just waiting for things to happen now.
I ve got all the nursery ready and have even managed a bit of batch cooking which I didnt think id get round to.
Pram and car seat have arrived and hubby is setting up the car seat today.
We also tried out my tens machine for the first time this afternoon. Such a strange feeling but it did relieve the back ache i ve had for the last few days!
I feeling nervous about the birth but so ready to meet our baby now. I just want to get on with it! No signs for me yet but had 38 week check yesterday and Pip is fully engaged. I can feel a lot of pressure down low now and walking very far is getting difficult. Even walking up the stairs brings on braxton hicks. Im also quite tired as I seem to wake up everytime I need to turn over.
As much as I love my wiggly bump I will be pleased to be able to sleep comfortably again - when baby lets me anyway!!
3rd after the boldies now! Eek! Where has the time gone?! It seems like only last week I was 50th down the list!! Scary!!0 -

I thought payments for 2011/12 were based on pay from 2010/11, so in turn payments in 2012/13 would be based on pay from 2011/12, that was my understanding but I could be wrong. ( I hope not though as we earned a lot less in 11/12 than 10/11)I think the £26,000 limit is for a couple with just 1 child and no child care costs or disabilities. Yeah I knew that, I just meant for the average couple, and in the first 9 months most people have very little child costs, but I know for some it's differentThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Think they are based on the previous year Gilly. It's crazy cos it's based on a year when you haven't even got your child and are probably earning more than you are in the current financial year. Its a whack system!DS1 born June 2000
