Ooo, are you the lady that was local to me LittleMissGiggles?? I was wondering where you had got to! Dont panic, it is normal :) Not sure if there is anyhting the midwife would be able to do to help though unfortunately.
  • Morning all :)

Happy birthday Triangle - Enjoy your spa day, it sounds fab :)

Have a good last day at work Lola

Good luck with the midwife this morning Icey - hope you get the nice midwife and they do your sweep for you :)

:wave:Littlemissgiggle - I'm 26 weeks and bumpy seemed to settle very low down for a few weeks with me too - am not really sure if there is anything you can do to move him but if it helps, mine has moved and now seems to prefer my left hand side just off from my belly button. I think he is a territorial little bean :rotfl:

I'm quite tired today but have managed to go and do the shopping after dropping DS off at school this morning and took a sneaky trip into Hobbycraft while in town - I got loads of wool in the sale and some patterns for babies so am going to get knitting.... figure I might as well make the most of my time off before baby arrives :o

Have to hang DS's new curtains before he gets home today - he loves his new room but was not so impressed with the rose blind that has been up in the window :rotfl:

  • Thanks Ladies, I appreciate the advice. DH was worried last night as he could see how much discomfort I was in, but like you guys say there's naff all the midwife can do to help. I'm considering sleeping hanging by my ankles like a bat so that I get some relief from the pressure!!

I just wish the wee thing would move up somewhere else for a while, it bloomin hurts, especially when i'm sat at my desk all day!! Ah well, My mum has already promisied to have words with baby when it's here and ask why it's bullied me so much!! lol!

Hey Laura, yes i'm local to you, sorry for disappearing, I went into hiding for a while!! Glad to see all is going well with you. I have been watching you from the shadows!! :D

littlemiss giggle - my baby is, and always has been, VERY low, so much so that they often struggle to see everything they want to on the scan. Think of it as a good thing though, at 33 weeks I've still not suffered from heartburn or breathlessness both of which can be made worse and/or caused by baby being high up. Also, alot of ladies suffer with rib pain and struggling to bend due to baby being right under their ribs and I've not had that either. I do occasionally get achy ribs but I know thats more down to my poor posture when sat at my desk than anything else!

I ordered an Uppababy Vista pushchair and Maxi Cosi cabriofix car seat combo from Kiddisave at the beginning or Feb, they delivered the car seat. then nothing..... waitied.... no emails no nothing from them to ,ay what was happening. when they delivered the car seat I thought it was the whole bundle, they didn't say it was 2 boxes.

Anyway phoned up and was going to kick off, especially as they were giving 10% discount via fb (was trying my arm a bit as I'd had 5% off the order anyway). When I ordered the pram it said it was in stock, but when I rechecked the website they said it was going to be delayed by 2-3 weeks.

Anyway long story short!! I just checked my credit card statement as they apologised and said they were going to refund a bit, they refunded £61.10:) the combo rrp is £642.99-£720 online. Plus the 5% I already had ended up paying £549.74 :money:

I know that sounds like a lot anyway, but my parents offered to pay and they and OH pursued me to get it, just have to set it up now! :)

Emsbet Remember you'l be entitled to Maternity Allowance :) I know the feeling of asking OH for money, I had to do it for a while and it is a horrible feeling :o

Hi Gilly, yes I remember I can get SMA and my redundancy would cover me until mid/end July but I'd rather find some work so that I can use that money for stuff around the house and baby things.

I just need to get my !!! out of bed and do it but I'm feeling tired and sick this morning. Still waiting for the "blooming" stage to start ;) Just need to psych myself up to phone the agencies....

Well, stroppy MW wasn't there so yay on that front, but other MW (not lovely one) couldn't do a sweep as my cervix is posterior.

I think I understand her correctly, baby's head is very low but my cervix is tucked up behind it so she couldn't reach it. I can attempt another sweep on Sunday at the birthing centre at a hospital fairly local to me but given that she has now booked me for induction next Thursday (15th) she is not feeling particularly confident about it.

I am ridiculously upset about it, I "know" I shouldn't be and things could still kick off in the meantime but there is a little part of me being silly and upset about not being able to get it done by myself :( If I am to be induced it means I can't have my water birth and it all sounds horrible with fast and hard move into contractions and then the intervention waterfall thing could even possibly end up in c-section :(:(

Oh well, the main thing is to get Elvis here safely and I have to pull myself together and get over it - it might not happen that way anyway!

Aw icey that's disappointing, I know it's easier said than done but try to relax today, hopefully things will start off soon. I'm sure some of the ladies who've experienced induction on the one year thread could offers some support around your birth plan, we'll all be sending you labour vibes xx
