I'm another one who hates putting washing away. It's such a pointless job.
And as for ironing, that's just utterly ridiculous. After 5 minutes sat in the car I am just as creased. I'm a tumble dry and hang up kind of a girl.
I'm 33 weeks today and am started to feel a bit daunted about what's to come. It feels very overwhelming right nowDS1 born June 2000

I'm gonna have a bit of a moan now so skip if you don't feel like reading it.
Went to my second consultant appointment today. I didn't know why they hadn't referred me back to midwifery as I was only referred at 32 weeks because I was measuring large with a tape but when they scanned me everything was a normal size. Anyway, saw the most condescending registrar I have ever met (consultant on holiday) she told me its my fault that I measured large because I'm fat (okay she didn't actually say the words but she may as well have) and that even though I'm 36+3 I'm going to have a glucose test for gestational diabetes as it wasn't done earlier. I know they are just covering all the bases but it really feels to me like they are just covering their bums in case something later turns out to be wrong. So I'll go and do their annoying test on Friday when I will be 36+6.
On the plus side babies head is between my hips and from what she can feel facing the right way so I guess it was worth it just to know that. PPPLLLTTTT! to her. I hope I don't have to see her again because frankly she could do with some people skills.
Hi Safesounnd,
Maybe it is part of their training (or lack of), we were referred to an orthapedic consultant as our unborn baby has talipes. On the day of the appt we saw the registrar who told us he deals with the consultants cases (!) and then proceeded to ask what was wrong with me, after I explained twice he said don't know anything about that you will need to see the consultant. he then went and spoke to the nurse. 10 mins later the nurse came and took us to a side room and asked it it was my knee or ankle? The registrar hadn't even told the nurse why we were there!
Eventually saw the organ grinder
arghhhhh
they don't make it easy for us do they!

We iron and go, i alreay have a soon to be 5 year old, and what gets my goat with him and oh is if i iron they just pull everything out of the drawers and they end up creased anyway and they have to be irioned again before we want to go out.
So i do this.......... wash the clothes on reduce crease option on 30 degree wash when i take them out the washer and go to hang them to dry on the line or the airers, i shake them and then hang.
when dry i fold them up and put them in the drawers, the only thing that gets ironed is his school uniform and is hung in my wardrobe!
I then only iron clothes as we need them, it hurts me anyway to iron as i damaged my back 6 years ago ice skating, even sitting and ironing hurts me pregnant or not.
Had a lazy day today, walked too and from school today to try and stay active and keep baby in a good position.:TDs2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

Happydays - everything will be just fine(please remind me of that when I'm 33 weeks and freaking out!) I know you've got a lot going on but you will be ok
I agree RE ironing - can't remember the last time I ironed anything! I just hang things up carefully, and they dry pretty uncreased. I'd iron a shirt for a job interview, but that's about itMy OCD aunt irons her pants....!
Ginvzt, not sure what to suggest re your bump-acheI get it too, but only when I've been walking too fast or for too long (that time-frame is rapidly diminishing, lol!) Could you try getting one of those proper bump supports, rather than just a tubigrip? (No idea if they're any good though)
Mirrorimage - gorgeous pic, that was a sweet thing of you guys to doShe's a real cutie, bless her.
Eeeeeeeee pram has been delivered! :j DH is bringing it home in about an hour, can't wait to see what it's like. I hope my gamble paid off and that it's ok!
Right, must go, got loads of work I need to do on my loft conversion plans, must finish it tonight or I will scream!

Hey everyone, could someone add me to the list please?
I am 12+5 and due on 7th September. Terrified but excited also. Have been lurking, reading up on everything. Looking forward to getting a bit further along and developing a proper bump!0 -
Went to the consultant today - always good when they open with "so, why am I seeing you exactly"... bump is now back measuring to dates properly, head down - so the usual highly useful conversation really.
Only plus point - she took pity on me for the dental situation and prescribed some decent painkillers! Tooth's less painful today anyway - the shooting pains through my skull have died down and it's only really sore if I chew with it... hopefully the flare-up's flared down enough to keep going till the far side of May.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Hi bellola. I'm technologically inept so I'll leave the list to someone about more able.
Dizzi - glad your tooth is feeling a little better. Was worried you were still pacing up and down your house with pliers at the ready. Glad you got some decent painkillers.
I just ate my tea that quickly I barely remember doing so. I think I must have inhaled it and am still starving. Those cheap Easter eggs you can get in the shops will be the ruin of me!!
Emmylou - did you go up to the hospital for a trace?

Hey Happy, no I havent gone up there. Baby is moving, granted not as much as normal, but i had a few quieter days last week, so just filling up on choc and pepsi (eww!) and will see what happens. If he is still quiet 2moro I will go for sure. I`m still having tightenings so its prob tiring the poor thing out! I have scrubbed the kitchen... including the floor thanks to the cat......and that made baby jiggle a bit lol. How are u today anyway? xx
I never ever used to do any ironing, I do now tho, as the older I get the more it bugs me when my kids clothes have a crease in them!!! I`m lucky tho that having girls, leggings are generally worn by all so they dont need ironingDH irons his own stuff, always has done thank goodness!!
Welcome Bellola
I`m so so sore inside its unreal, was never this bad with the girls, it hurts soooo much when i walk i feel like someone is holding a blow torch to me! xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

I'm ok thanks Emmylou. Think I'm just having a down couple of days. It's hard when there's no one to rely on or talk to about things. It should be such an exciting time but circumstances make it a bit difficult to enjoy a lot of it. I'll get there in the end though and that's the main thing. When little man is here that will be my new focus and I won't have time to dwell on the past.
I'm definitely in the mood for eating everything and anything in sight tonight. I wonder if it possible to wear your jaw out!!!! I'll give it a good go.
