Thanks guys :T I'll call them tomorrow, I'd feel more relaxed about writing a birth plan if I knew what to expect of the surroundings etc
Just finished watching last nights OBEM, how brave was the twinny lady, hats off to her, that must've been so painful and bloomin tiring! I do think that as the weeks go on though I might have to stop watching as I'm starting to get quite set about what I do and don't want, whereas I always said I'd be relaxed about a plan!0 -
My hospital doesn't do tours, but they do have a 'short online film' you can watch. It's a bit like an amateur version of One Born Every Minute, but with ladies who are laughing and smiling through their labours rather than shouting at their husbands :rotfl:0

Good luck Mozzy, hope the ribbon works better for you than it did for me! I had it 24hrs and contrax, but no dilation, so had the gel, which kiciked things off.
Make sure you have plenty of drinks close on hand in case it kicks off and you cant make it to reach anything further away. Hope you have your mummy cuddles soon.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Our hosp/midwives dont actually advise u write a birth plan anymore, just as long as u get them to write in ur notes, what u def DONT want. They feel that with a strict birth plan, women get more upset and stressed when things dont go according to that plan. Where as if ur more "go with the flow" the outcome is generally better if something "does" happen/go wrong/not according to plan. Hope that makes sense! I can see what they mean. I`ve never had a birth plan, purely as i know that i`d be gutted if things didn go my way, and i know now, no labour is the same as the last! xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

Good evening ladies & bumps - hope everyone is wel :-)
I just wondered if anyone had any advice on how to deal with cramp in your legs and what causes it? I've woken up crying out in agony two nights on the trot now (nearly scared my husband half to death!) and can barely walk today. Is this common? I'm nearly 27 weeks now. Someone recommended a hot bath but I've heard they're not good in pregnany so not sure what to do :undecided
Also has anyone here had an Anti-D injection (sorry if this has already been discussed and I've missed it). I knew I'd need one from when I used to donate blood (I'm O-neg) and wondered if there are any common side affects? I'm due to be in London the next day (travelling down from W. Yorks) so just wondering if I'll be OK.
Thanks as always for any advice you may have! x x0 -

Would agree with this 100% I'm so glad I didn't make one, as I was totally against epidurals, didn't want any medical intervention etc. Ended up with an epidural, 2 pethidine injections and forceps to turn him, although I did manage to get him out on my own, because I begged them to let me tryI didn't want him yanked out by forceps.
