Just wanted to pop in and say ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to you kitten xxx

I still stalk all you ladies!

I must admit, I did poo right at the end when I was pushing Teddy out, the bearing down sensation made it impossible not to as it feels like you want to do a poo! So if there's anything there, it will just come out....my midwife was fantastic though, she just wiped it away and when I asked if I'd pooed she just said, 'no darling just giving you a little wipe', but I could smell it!:D OH was cracking up but I didn't care at that point!

Also I would say stock up on maternity pads ladies.....I had 2 packs in hospital which was fine as I came home the same day but was changing them every 1-2 hours ad wearing 2 at a time. Went through a pack just when my waters broke. Then had 2 packs at home which lasted all of a couple of days! OH went out and came back with Tena Lady:eek: which were brill!
And breast pads, I had to sometimes wear 3 or 4 in my bra when my milk came in, and had to send OH out to get more too. You can never have enough!

Hope you are all ok :D
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference :)

    Afternoon All,

I have been lurking all wkend but not managed to find time to post and so much to catch up on.

Thanks to all those posting about benifits ect, as none of us have ever had any i didnt even give it a thought but an extra £20ish a wk will come in handy.

((Big Hugs)) Kitten_pie it must be very worrying for anyone who has had problems before especially when you get close to the same time frame. ((Hugs)) also to anyone else having similar thoughts/fears.

Braxton Hicks- is everyone different as I seem to have had loads and very strong although not at all painfull or uncomfortable. Now i know its what they are I have had lots from quite early on but last week and over the wkend they were so frequent and the tightening would last quite a long time. Should I be getting bag ready before 36wks or is it just part of the its different for everyone things?

Dont have any newborn clothes or done any of the washing/cleaning ect so dont really want an unexpected early arrival. I am waiting for the next sale this weekend for newborn stuff as we have lots of freebies and 2nd hand so treating ourselves and LO to a few nice bits from next hopefully from the sale.

    Welcome all Newbies

Labour vibes to all who need them, any news from Fluff?

Don't worry about poo-ing, quite a lot of people get the runs in labour so there is nothing left to come out :D I had horrific diarrhea while at home labouring, so when it came to pushing 36 hours later and no food, there was fook all left to come out. I think I'd have rather pooed while pushing than having the runs while contracting :( lol xx

They recommend bags are packed ready around week 36. As you are classed as at term at 36-37 weeks. I washed all clothes ready around week 30-32 and made sure she had nappies and clothes in case of early arrival all sorted then. Started buying bag stuff from week 34 - chucking in a pile lol. Put it all in one bag around 36 in a messy heap. And have seperated out into seperate bags and gathered last stuff in the past 2 weeks. And finally completed packing at 38 weeks!! Depends how stressed out you are really about these things and just how prepared you want to be. Personally I wanted to be completed at 36 but i'm just not that organised!!!

MrsB -Thanks for info, OH and I were discussing how much to get in terms of pads ect this wkend, we couldnt decide how much I would need for a day in hospital and a few days after. thankfully I have a very modern man who does everything around the house and if I asked him to get extra maternity pads or breast pads he would know exactly what to get and wouldnt be embarassed about it either.

TBH my OH is great, he does all the cooking(he is a chef) and will happily do any house work and does it well. We completly share responsability for everything but after 18yrs together we have matured and grown up together so learnt alot about life with eachother. Its great too as we both have the very same plan on how to bring up LO regardless of our own upbringings which were very different.

Thanks Rebekah im not too worried at not having bag ready but perhaps will get a few bits washed and ready just incase by next week.

((hugs)) kitten, I can't really add anymore than what everyone's already said. We all understand why you're nervous and we are all here to offer support.

Gemma, as everyone else says I'd get checked out.

((hugs)) to everyone who's feeling low today.

That new look sale is very tempting but with only 9 weeks (31 weeks tomorrow!) left until my EDD I am not buying any more maternity clothes.

Been to see the midwife today re swelling as DH and my sister had been bugging me. All is fine and while I was there she did all the other checks so I don't need to go for my 32 week check next week. She was a lt more rough than my usual midwife and little man objected to her prodding :) She's left me feeling a bit sore and bruised. DH came with me and he got to hear the heartbeat for the first time since 16 weeks which was nice :) Baby is still head down which is good :)

Going to make some more taggie blankets ths afternoon.

    xx

Oh that's what I was going to ask, when are you supposed to start the perineal massage?

  • I think I read 34 weeks somewhere, but don't think it can hurt to start a bit earlier.

The sale looks tempting to me too, but I'm thinking I've not long left either and have enough clothes to last :-(

    Enjoy making your taggies :-)
