Rups, there is an increased blood flow to your tummy area for the placenta etc, so you may well feel your own heart beat in your tummy. I know if I stare at mine I can even see it.

    Weird but perfectly normal :)

  • Rups I think statistically 1 in 3 pregnancies end in mc, I heard that on tv so don't know if it's accurate. But that doesn't mean it's any less devastating when it happens just because it's 'common.' Those who are saying it have probably have never experienced the heartache of one. Tell them to get lost, not the kind of people you need around you now. I know friends who have had mcs who have got many perfectly healthy children now, but they still cry at their lost ones all these years later.

My biggest two fears now at 30+4 are 1) pooing myself. Even if the midwives doesn't tell me I'm sure I will know, and I can't imagine I'll ever be at 'that stage' where that won't mortifying me! 2) this tearing business, mainly have heard stories of bad stitching and deformed foofs. Going to try this massage while I can still semi reach. OH says he's happy to help, I'm worried massaging that area with oil fingers may slip into places lol.

Actually I have three...number 3) if I do stay the minimum of 24 hours like dr wants the tea lady might make crap tea.....I will be leaving at that point and coming home!
And these are my main three worries ;)

Thanks Mishka, we lost the boys due to TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) Nathan donated his blood to Lincoln so Lincoln had a heart attack due to too much blood and Nathan didn't have enough.

It is something that only happens in twin pregnancies where there is a shared placenta (Identical Twins) so won't happen this time. Which I do keep reminding ourselves. It is just we are now acutely aware of everything that can go wrong.

We are no more likely to go into early labour or have any problems than anyone else but doesn't stop the worry.

I remember the feeling of absolute shock when we found out about the edwards syndrome, we had 2 perfectly healthy children so stuff like that just isnt supposed to happen :o (yeah what an ignorant moo i was)

This time round when we found out about the cord defect I remember thinking 'No one can be THAT unlucky twice'

Its some kind of relief that it cant happen to you again Im sure, still logic doesnt come into emotions so im a huge bucket of mush right now too.

Are you having any counselling ? might be helpful to talk it through with a stranger who isnt feeling any emotional attachment.

I am not sure how far along you have to be but at a certain point you might be able to hear your babies heartbeat. Well your OH could if he put his ear to your tummy. It does depend on where the baby is positioned but it is possible.

I think it is from around 25 weeks but could be wrong. My OH hasn't yet heard it he is only getting mine still.

Your right logic doesn't come into it.

We are still seeing our counsellor with every scan which keeps us on track and ensures we are sharing our worries within a safe space.

We also have a letter so that should we have to go in out of hours they are to contact our consultant and not fob us off.

((Hugs)) for you too I know it was tough when you found out there was a similar problem with the cord. Hopefully we will both get through it fine and be complaining about lack of sleep in a few weeks. :D

I think i may have pooped with my first, but i couldnt feel a thing due to my epidural and husband only briefly saw the midwife pick something up but wasnt clear what,

2nd time round I had horrific diarrhea just before so there was nothing left :o

I tore with both mine and cannot lie it hurts ! not during though as you are on such a high, its the days after when you can even pee without fear of tearing again. They also didnt get it quite right so I still had problems years later.

You get a tea and toast afterwards which was some of the best Ive ever had :rotfl: and you can always get some smuggled in :D
