Ladies, you still need vitamin A, you just shouldn't overdose on the stuff. So avoid the super-high concentrations in some foods, and avoid some skin creams, but as for normal eating you're likely to be fine. Although it's things like this that make me fed up with fortifying foods!
From http://www.medicine.ox.ac.uk/bandolier/booth/hliving/healpreg.html :
Avoid high intakes of vitamin A
"Very high intakes of vitamin A (retinol) during the first few weeks of pregnancy may harm your baby. In the early days when you may not know you are pregnant it is advisable to avoid eating foods that are particularly high in vitamin A, e.g. liver, liver sausage and cod liver oil. Vitamin A found in fruits and vegetables (carotene) are safe to eat."0 -
Rups you need milk for calcium hun it helps teeth and bones, and you need to grow a whole skeleton so calcium is a good thing!
As for the drink don't worry about it just don't drink anymore, I'm sure such a small amount won't have caused harm, I've eaten a few things such as salami etc which aren't recommended for pregnancy and I've drunk drinks then read a label on the side that said 'not suitable for pregnant people', you will be fine, stop worrying! You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Hi all
Hope everyone is OK, I have read back then promptly forgotten everything again- bloomin baby brain! Thanks for all the kind wishes for my last post, nan's funeral was on Friday and was just what she would have wanted, lots of people, lots of drinking and lots of reminising. Obviously very upsetting, but feel much better about it all now. My dad didn't get home from the wake until nearly 11pm as he stayed out drinking with mum, and some other relatives, think they needed to blow off some serious steam.
Officially finished work nwo, on holiday for 2 weeks then starting mat leave. Feel so tired all the time and apparently I look like I have dropped already. Keep getting told there is no way I'll last another 5 weeks, we'll see, don't want to get my hopes up for not going over but not quite ready yet!
Not sure whether or not I should be worried, I know I am probably being paranoid, but haven't felt much movement since Friday, just the occasional nudge and nothing today. have tried eating some chocolate and a cold drink this morning but still nothign. May see if nothing this afternoon then will ring EPAU for advice.
Hopefully baby just tired and having a growtrh spurt.
Hope everyone else is good and babies are behaving themselvse

Gemma I had a few occasions a little earlier in my pregnancy where the baby seemed to go quiet and not move, I was a bit worried for a day or two but then it was fine. If you are worried though you could ask for a midwife appointment so they can listen to baby's heartbeat or they will check you in the hospital.
Bit scary, about 10 mins ago had what felt like a menstrual cramp! Lasted only a minute but wondering if it could be the first signs of labour  My tummy has been feeling really heavy the last couple of days and I've had some discomfort. No 'show' but I know some women don't have a show but the colour of discharge (eww, sorry!) becomes reddish-tinged. I've got that.
I'm 38+3 though so would like baby to wait until next weekend at least ... we haven't got the baby room quite ready yet! It looks gorgeous with the warm yellow walls but still needs a little more work before it's finished. Will try to post a pic here once ready.0 -
