Ooh, thanks sexymouse. Will have a good nosey and compare with the list my midwife gave me! Now it makes sense why I was offered sickle cell testing... (although I'm still not sure why I need to carry a card with me to say I don't have sickle cell...?)

This flow chart may be even easier - I'm sure on my searches previously I saw it all written down in a table, but can't for the life of me find it now.

I know others have heard the heartbeat at that checkup but mine didn't; so don't get your hopes too high!

grrr not fair. they should be consistent. i was reading the babycentre one but when i click the 16 week link, it takes me to the development stage. lol. i am not 16 weeks yet but on tuesday.

thank you. that is very helpful. its really weird when things are spaced out in terms of appointments and when one has no clue what is going to happen or be discussed. i have already been jotting down questions to ask.

very important point about the weight mentioned though. i have started worrying about it and iknow i shouldnt. its just after the 12-13 week scan you dont have any other indication until the 20 week scan? also when you see your midwife at 16 weeks, what does she do? i keep getting paranoid regarding the heartbeat and also weight (not so much the weight).

At my 16 week appointment I had my blood pressure taken, urine tested and just a general chat about things. Then she asked if I wanted to hear the heartbeat.

She had to put a stool next to the bed so I could get on because I'm not very mobile and I'm short! :rotfl:

LadyM: my boobs are noticiably bigger in the last week or two, and they were bigger right at the start as well (starting before we knew I was pregnant). At the moment I'm too big for most of my normal bras to be comfortable &/or to provide the support I now want, so I'm on sports bras and some nursing bras I bought right at the start when I was bigger than normal. If you hold off on the clothes shopping another two weeks or so you might find you increase in size as well, these last few days I'm quite sure I'm putting on weight by my bum (or my bump is lower than it was before) and you might need bigger clothes than fit you now.

Bikelesschick, what have you been getting? Or did I miss it in your post? And I'm not sure you can get the OH to understand. Mine is doing quite well but a good few weeks back I spent the entire day in bed as I had a post-nasal drip which meant everytime I got up I was instantly and violently sick (post-nasal drip + morning sickness = unpleasantness). I think he thought I was putting it on a bit / a lot until he made me get out of bed in the late afternoon to move it over a bit and I had to dash straight to the loo even though I'd not eaten anything all day just water! We also then heard from another friend that the tiredness that kicks in is 'as powerful as horse tranquiliser' so he's much more understanding now

bikelesschick i meant to reply earlier but forgot. doh. i know what you mean about men. sometimes telling them how you are feeling helps. i tried that first and he used to see it as nagging. it is only when i just gave up tidying up and cleaning as i just couldnt do it, i think he realised. he helps around so much more now. touchwood. sometimes i still nag him like i kept washing up and this morning i refused to do it and he just did it. grrrr

i cleaned the bathroom earlier and mopping the floor on my knees got me so tired. and i wondered whether i had hurt belly but bending etc.

the whole belly button thing makes me puke even thinking about it i hope my stays where its at and doesnt pop anywhere lol

i got the mamas and papas nursing bras - really fast delivery and dead comfy and excellent quality
