Morning,
wow its been busy on here over night and another early start from some.
I finally had a full nights sleep, first one in ages. went to bed after a bath and was asleep from 10pm right through until 6am, not even a loo break :j
going to the drop in centre this morning to see the MW, it should be the new one so might actually find out her name at last, I am also going to ask about having a growth scan as they dont do them round here but everyone else i know is getting them because they have to be checked on. I am very grateful to be having a 'normal' pregnancy but it is boring and me and OH would love to see baby again before she comes(and would like an extra check she is a girl).
I do hope everyone is well and not effected by the weather too much.Rachel

Morning ladies
Had a long and busy day at work yesterday, and I was so tired and achy in the evening. DH had been at home all day as he was going to the dentists so he’d arranged to work from home. He went to a gig with his Dad on Wednesday though so was really hungover, and when I got home he was playing on his Xbox and hadn’t done the washing up or started dinner. Had a proper hormonal flip out at him and stamped upstairs in tears!felt a bit stupid afterwards, but he really is a pain when it comes to housework/cooking, he always has to be asked/reminded and I could do with more help around the house. He was very contrite, but we'll have to see how long it lasts....
Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Moneypenny I started feeling sick again at 29 weeks
I'm hoping it's a blip but can't help but feel it's going to get worse!
LittleMoog my OH does the same, he does work hard bless him but I work full time too and end up doing all the cooking and cleaning. There's been many a time where he has been at home before me and instead of doing the washing up - which would take about twenty mins max and help me out no end - he's played on the xbox. Cue big strop and silent treatment. You are not alone.0 -
A quick rummage seems to show that at SMP rate only it will be too little to trigger PAYE tax, but will still get NI contributions on the bit over £107 per week at 13.8%. Now I'm not sure how the tax codes are changed and so on but it's probably worth factoring in a few long phonecalls to HMRC as soon as your SMP kicks in to make sure that they use the right tax code for you. If it were only 13.8% on the bit over £107 per week, it'd still be just over £130 per week take-home. If my brain is still working this late
A quick update of NI for 2012/13:
NI is charged on weekly earnings of £146.01 and over so it looks like the basic SMP will be both tax and NI free :j0 -
Hello everyone,
Thanks for your replies to my mother problem. Last night I had the awkward phone call and it sounds like my brother had been winding my mum up (baby is a sensitive subject as she is very excited). It turns out she just wanted to see him when he is a few days old and not two weeks old. I said that is completely fine - she had no intention of being there while I was in labour. We have agreed we will ring her when I go into hospital for labour and we will take it from there when we know what day and time he is born when she comes down. I've also said to her that if she has any concerns over baby she should speak to me about it and not let my bro wind her up. She has a bad habit of over thinking sometimes!!
Rebekah - glad to hear that you've now got a plan for bubba, so good luck for tuesday!!
AMC - Your mat policy is very good. Im also pretty lucky. I get first 13 weeks at full pay, 2nd 13 weeks at half pay and then last 13 weeks get statutory. I can take upto 12 months but the last 13 weeks is with no pay. I've already decided to take 9 months off. I also get return to work bonus which helps to make it worth going back for plus I like working so not going back isnt really an option for me. Living in London with a huge mortgage cannot afford to give up work. Bubba is already on the list for nursery place, so pinkies crossed we get into there! Its only 5 mins walk from home and on the way to the tube!!
Robyn - funnily enough my MIL is South African!! She won't be here though, she's just been for a visit around the time of the Jubilee.
Today we've hit the 38th week!! Bubba is moving loads today - he's really having a party in there!! Got crappy back ache so today going to take it a lot more easy. Saying that had fun this morning sorting out the kitchen cupboard we are going to use for bubbas sterilisation kit. Bottle steriliser is now sitting happily on the kitchen counter ready to be used!
Looking forward to tomorrow when we get to assemble his room and I can start washing his clothes and putting them into the drawers. At the moment we have lots of boxes full of clothes in our bedroom. We've been give loads of used clothes from friends and new stuff from work & family. TBH i think we've got too much!! Oh well!
I'm also into crafting as well - got a lovely big cross stitch i'm working on http://www.bothythreads.com/thru-noahs-pi-128.html?image=0. So far going well without any hitches. Am very good at starting and making fatal mistakes!!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Morning all!
Eventually fell asleep around 6 am. But I had a horrible scare about 9am. I suddenly had a very sharp heavy pain in the centre of my chest and thought omg I'm having a heart attack, literally took my breathe away and woke me up. I went to clutch my chest.....and yep you guessed it this daft cat had jumped on me! :rotfl: panic over!
The scan was amazing!
Moneypuddle the guy asked if we know the gender which we do. If you didn't want to know then no they didn't look there in 4d. Some people have this scan and find out the gender there if NHS don't tell them and they haven't had a separate scan. He did a normal black and white scan first and measure things etc and confirmed again it's a boy!
Hugs for feeling sicky toonot fun at all
KatyLiz where I went they offer between 22-34 weeks. I've been told 28-30 weeks is a good time as it's more developed and going towards 34 weeks baby can be a bit too big to see him on the screen. It's earlier for twins Between 18-24 weeks there.
MissMonkeyMoo I can't believe it either, sounds still far, but I it's gonna sneak up on us
SillyMoo thank you for the infothat's great. Was thinking if they tax us on that they're being a bit mean!
Ferrety good luck for your appt, hope you can get to meet the new midwife
LittleMoog hugs for you after your carp day. I find I need to leave specific instructions for OH and write a list.
2nd hand baby clothes most of ours are, we've bought job lots locally. Mostly from Facebook selling site, cs or car boot. Even if we'd bought new I'd wash them thoroughly before use so really makes no different to me. Especially as really they grow so fast. And nobody will really know where you got it from once baby's wearing it. I've got most of his stuff second hand tbh, I love a bargain. The only new thing is his cot which MIL is going to buy. we got given a cot, but we're planning to buy a new mattress, but now we can pick one we really like
I know of people that have literally spent thousands before their babies are born on all the stuff, I don't have thousands to spend lol!
OH said after we found out i was pregnant "we've timed this well, think of all the stuff we can get at car boot sales!" :rotfl:
My BF is 41 weeks today and has gone for a sweep/induction this morning. So excited, have been trying all week not to pester her daily for updates and will continue to try and not text her hourly.....but it's so exciting :j fingers crossed her bubba will be here soon
Hope everyone is ok. Hugs to those who need them and labour vibes for those who need them too xxx:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Lucky if you can get to some - there haven't been any on near usand I don't think it is very MSE to drive an hour to one in our gas guzzling car! lol

Off to meet the ruddy health visitor in a minute ... Oh joy ...0 -
Clarissa glad you had a chat with your mum and sorted it all out. Must be a relief to have it sorted and know there's no bad feelings.
The cross stitch is wonderful! Am also doing a Noah's Ark one for a friend.....er baby is now three lol! No where as detailed as yours though. My mum is doing one for our nursery, she does it for all the grandchildren. Otherwise bubba would be getting married before I finish it lol xx
