    Morning all.

Clarissa, we've said no one is to visit until we are ready. If all goes to plan and we're out of hospital the same or next day we want at least one day at home just the three of us before any visitors arrive.

I had a shocking night's sleep last night. On top of the usual hip pain I got a searing pain in my pubic bone, like being jabbed with a hot poker! It started about 2:30 and I took a couple of paracetemol which I though was helpIg but then when I had to get up to go to the loo it flared up again. I ended up in tears and came downstairs to sit as it was less painful than lying down. I managed to get back to sleep about 6:30 for an hour.
On the bright side I'm off to meet happy, Goppers and jovichick for lunch today :)

Hope you are all well. Labour vibes to the boldies.

ETA congratulations on 3rd tri ikkle

    xx

    Morning all!

Didn't get on to post yesterday after my GTT as it didn't agree with me too well (either that or I've got a bit of a tummy bug). The info on my letter specified that it had to be 410ml of Lucozade Original (no flavours), which I took with no problems (apart from being gassy 2 hours after taking it still, and having allowed it to go a bit flat overnight in the fridge). Had the blood tests (3 vials as she did the iron levels etc that would normally be done at the 28wk midwife appointment), which have given me a huge bruise as she seemed to jiggle the needle every time she attached a new vial and wasn't very gentle in the first place. Went to stand up, and nearly fell back over as I came over all hot and dizzy. Had to sit back down for a bit but the nurses were useless - they had no idea what to do with me, and tried to offer me cups of tea or coffee. I asked for a glass of water as I was so hot, but they just told Moon to take me to the canteen down the corridor for something. Still, Moon did take me to breakfast at the canteen (beans on toast and a chocolate milkshake), which did help me feel a bit better, and a bonus is, the prices were really cheap too - Moon had his eye on some of the lunch menu that was on the table.

We then went to the post office in town to send our parcel to the Canadians, came home and decided to go to Portsmouth to get some bits for the baby. Managed to get quite a few things (including button-down nighties from Primark for £4.50 - got 2 for after the birth). :T Got home, and started to feel sick again - my fingers had swollen up from the heat and I struggled to get one of my rings off despite putting my hand under cold water for ages so I went to bed for a while with my feet up on pillows.

Luckily I'm not working today, as still feeling a bit hot and strange. Have had breakfast and I'm off to have a shower in a minute to see if that makes me feel more human.

    Sorry for the winge.

Hugs for all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

    sexymouse xx

Ah Sexymouse - try to cool down, the shower sounds like a good idea. Is your blood pressure usually low or high? If it's low, and you overheat, the pressure goes even lower as your body tries to cool down!

My blood pressure is normally spot on according the midwifes who've measured it, but I do seem to be reacting worse to the heat than I usually do, so if I'm not feeling better tomorrow I may contact the midwife.

Has anybody seen anywhere that sells vests with collars so that they look like polo tops tucked into jeans?

I can find them on ralph lauren etc but I was thinking more like 5 for £10-£12 not 1 for £35 ish lol... preferably in bright primary colours or blue and green

Incase anybody else was interested I found:

Next do them for about £6-£9 each depending on the material so £6-7 for polo types and £8-9 for shirt types.

H&M do them in either 2 pack of polo types (1 x white & 1 x baby blue) for £3 a pack so only £1.50 each or about £5-6 each for special ones e.g I bought one that has boy tie and one that was grey with a denim collar for only £6 each

Asda has been suggested but I haven't had a chance to get there yet :)

*Have also put his on the newborn thread as they were helpful too*

I'm seeing the midwife this afternoon. It's been 3 weeks since my last appointment which seems like ages as I usually have so many appointments. I'm hoping she'll give me a proper physio referral this time for my SPD. The physios only give out advice on the phone and send exercise leaflets earlier in pregnancy round here, but I really would like an actual appointment to see if I can get some kind of back support.

sexymouse what rubbish treatment you got. I can't believe the nurses didn't know what to do with you, that is useless! Hope you manage to rest up and feel better today.

emsbet hope you're feeling better and have a good day today.

Clarissa - I wouldn't have my family at the hospital. My parents are great to us and a brilliant help, but I couldn't think of anything worse than having them turn up just after I'd given birth, I like peace and quiet. In the past I've let family visit the day after I've been back home. I'm sure if you explain to your mum that you really still want her to be involved, but you just need some time to recover, she'll understand.

Nikkikayj doesn't come back on here anymore but she had her baby on 2nd July, he's very cute :)

I've told my mum she can be a 2nd birthing partner as my nan and auntie both said they thought it would help our relationship. She does have a list of things she has to stick to or get's asked to leave though. She's not to have had any alcohol, not to criticise or be aggressive about me, my partner or my dad's family. She is there to support me, if I feel she is bullying me or making me feel worse she will be asked to leave and she knows this. She's very excited to become a nanny but she can be a very vindictive person.

Rebekah I hope you get your list sorted, I have a tiny list it's mainly hobbies/crafts and cleaning, baking etc as I've run out of things to do for the baby x

Morning all. hope everyone is ok today. xx

sexymouse that is really. i do question the training the nurses get sometimes!!! I hope you are ok today. Its hard to cool down and stuff. :( a glass of water would have sufficed. stupid nurses!

emsbet hope you're feeling better today and have a good day today.

Clarissa, that is a weird one. In our culture the whole lot come to the hospital but as my mum lives in Woolwich and an hour away, i think i would prefer just DH there too. it would be nice for support beforehand but ithink she would do my head in inside saying do this or dont do that. and we are trying to be close but its hard. i think just me and Dh and baby. In laws are great and they libes 20-25 mins away so maybe they and mum guys can come later when we head back or if i am still in the hospital? weird one that is. Just try and explain to her that she has her wires crossed.

LMm thanks for that. :0) i will try Tescos or online asda for a pair of trousers (as we dont have onen ear us).

had a weird nights sleep too. got up to pee at 4 and couldnt get back to sleep. had weird dreams then, and before sleeping off, was having scray thoughts about things going wrong at the 20 week scan and was just creating these stupid scenarios in my head about how i would deal with stuff! what is wrong with me?
