I was reading your comments about bras. I always go to bravisimmo too and when i went for a new measuring, she did suggest this brown one that she recommends to pregnant women. will try find a link and post it. its underwired. i did read somewhere recently that undewired bras should be avoided as they interfere with formation of milk ducts? this bar is so comfy and i bought it at 6 weeks and am still wearing it. was thinking about going to marks or mothercare to see if should switch to non-wired. i am also quite big at the top. luckily DH likes it. phew. just hope i dont get backaches because of them!
might pop into next to check out maternity stuff as my work stuff is all tight now.
can i ask a question please? is it stil normal to get period type cramps at 15 weeks? i am having some now. keep feeling belly to check that little bubba is ok, but i cant really tell can i?
ohh talking of people saying stuff: last night i rang my mum and she said to be very careful what i eat, as from my 13 weeks scan the baby looks big (7.5cm) and she said i dont want to end up getting too big or i will have problems. gee. thanks mum.
Rups, don't let other peoples' comments affect you too much. It sounds like there is quite an unhealthy interest in how much you weigh and how much weight you put on from everyone - to be honest, it's none of their business. The hospital would have mentioned it if there was anything to worry about, which there clearly isn't - and the reason they scan at 12 weeks is because ALL babies develop at the same speed around that time, so it's clearly bull that the baby was 'big'.
Your body is laying down fat for feeding the baby, and the baby is taking exactly what it needs from your body, no more, no less. The general rule of thumb (I understand) for weight gain during pregnancy is that you should aim for gaining no more than 3 stone if you're underweight, 2 if you're about right and 1 if you're overweight before conceiving. Please please please try and ignore them, you're doing fine - eat a reasonably healthy balanced diet with a few treats and you'll be fine.
I had a really really sore side of my tummy for about 10 days around week 16, which I think was everything stretching out for a while - it felt like ligament pain and was worse if I got constipated. It eased off and just went in the end and now I have a definite bump!
Also, you CAN have underwire but it has to fit properly, cupping the breast rather than sitting on any breast tissue as there are no milk ducts to affect in the wall of your torso. The guidelines are there because about 80% of women (I may have made that statistic up) are wearing the wrong sized bra.0 -
Rebekah, I got my last few bras from here http://www.undercoverexperience.co.uk/
I wear the same bras and just purchase the same one again when they start to fade. Usually the cost £30ish but last time I got it for £12 so bargainuss. Worth a look if you know what you are looking for, not too keen on the search facility if browsing.Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500

This actually leads me on nicely to my next question ... I will be getting measured for feeding bra's in the next week. And plan to go to mothercare. Are there any voucher codes hanging around that I can use? Got nothing in my inbox from the meanies
Guessing I will be paying over £30 :-s ...
No help with the codes, but my local Mothercare has a sale on at the moment and they had a rack with lots and lots of maternity bras on it, so you may luck out.
I just paid £56 for two0 -

i never get bargains for bras either even in the bravissimo sale, so i just pay up too. :-( so expensive to look after the puppies hey?
i end up worrying about sleep positions too. the sides get umcomfy and i never know if i am lying on the side 'properly' you know? this morning was on my back somehow!
Thanks for the message sarara. i do worry about weight gain as i have gained it quickly and i am sure its part the baby and part me eating more, but like you said if there was any issue they would have said right? i mean at the scan when they took blood for the nuchal test, i realised i was higher in weight but the woman didnt say anything. well since that scan i seemed to have stayed the same. i do wish weight wasnt such a big issue with regards to baby growing etc as that would worry me.am trying to eat well but also enjoy my crisps and a few snacks here and there. oops.
thankfully my loo habits are regular in the morning, but when i had my ibs i used to get constipated too. i try and have a glass of milk every day too and some sort of fibre - guess the fruit helps.:0(
