MrsBryan Congratulation for your little Teddy bear. You're bith story was positive but I'm still :eek::eek: I just can't see myself going through labor...I hope my baby will be in breech position and have a c-section. I feel so ashamed for saying that but here I can say everything I feel
. I haven't told anyone about my fear of birth.
Don't feel ashamed - it's perfectly normal to be scared; I know I was, and I'm sure most people are. You may find that arming yourself with as much information as possible makes you feel more in control and a bit less worried; talking through your fears with someone who understands what you're going through (e.g. an understanding midwife, a trusted friend) might also help. And we're all here to listen and support in any way we can. And remember that elective c-section IS an option if eventually you just can't face the idea of going through labour. I hope you're still able to enjoy your pregnancy and look forward to the big prize at the end of it: your gorgeous little baby, who will be worth everything you've been going through during these nine months. Big ((hugs)) to you.0 -
Morning all!
Still sitting in my nightie and Moon has gone back to sleep for a bit as he had a late night and got up too early. Everyone in this house seems to be asleep at the moment (Moon, Bean and the cat), but I'm quite happy pottering on the internet.
Had a couple of texts from friends for my birthday and my M&D rang earlier to wish me happy birthday too. Moon has given me lots of vouchers for M&S cafe visits, Thorntons ice-cream trips and "Maternity cloths" (he's not very good at spelling bless him) from his special "Bank of Moon" (printed with my birth-date as the account number).Got a card from MIL with the Champneys voucher I gave her for her birthday in March inside it (she clearly didn't appreciate the fact that the date is written on the receipt that she included with it lol) - oh well, at least I can go and get my legs waxed now.
I know my Mum and sister are also giving me Champneys vouchers (I asked for them so that I can beautify after Bean has arrived), so I hopefully won't look too bad before and after the birth.
Moon is taking me into town for a Starbucks this afternoon, so I'm looking forward to that, and tomorrow night we're going out to dinner with my M&D, and MIL and her partner. Got a voucher from Kenco via email for a free bar of Dairy Milk, so I'm very happy with that!
Rebekah hugs for the early morning MIL activity - my MIL lives next door, so I can sort of understand the frustration. Still, it sounds like the work in the nursery will be worth it in the end.
My Mum gave me another lecture about exercising this morning, thinks I worry too much about the birth, and thinks the idea of a birth plan is rediculous - she said you go to the hospital when you're in pain, and they take it from there! She was also surprised that baby was head-down at only 28 weeks as she thought that sounded early. Not too sure if he is today, as it doesn't feel the same down there today and I've had movements on both sides of my tummy at the same time.
Well I'm off to go and get dressed before it's officially the afternoon.
Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Thanks Ikkle (and hope your hips are better soon) and MrsBryan, guess I'll be ok, I suppose if you think about it all too much it gets overwhelming!
I went to a barbeque last night and met some of the new neighbours, quite nice actually as one couple have a little girl already and the other couple have got a baby due in December. We had a moan about how rubbish one particular midwife is that we've been seeing ... fortunately I don't think she works in the hospital so shouldn't get her for the birth!0 -
I think my bean moves everyday. Honestly, he feels everywhere. Yesterday was the first time he felt like he was fighting with my knicker elastic though. He's been doing the rounds of my belly this morning. Honestly, I'm trying to think what on earth I've eaten because he's been none stop. It's lovely.
I do hope he calms down before he pops out. His daddy has ADD (I think it runs in his family through the male line but its undiagnosed in the others), and I hope he doesn't. His daddy doesn't sleep much and can't sit still, I love him dearly but it drives me nuts. 2 of them (I'm thinking as the little man gets older not as a baby) in the house will drive me nuts!!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Bean was feet down about a week ago and the sensation of being kicked down there was very odd! The movements I don't like are the ones where it feels like he's squirming under my rib - it's not a kicking sensation, but a sort of scraping sensation. The day before yesterday he was kicking so hard that the duvet on top of me was moving! I'm sure he was trying to break out early. lolEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

UPDATE FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT:
There is much shouting between mother and son going on downstairs ... It would seem to hoover the living room perfectly one must unplug ALL cables and put them up high out the way. This includes tv ... internet ... phones ... ethernet cables ... power cables ... End result: Nothing works and MIL is being given a lesson about helping is nice interfering and touching things you don't know what they are isn't nice and is infact being unhelpful and creating more mess ... I however am having much fun doing thus:-

Happy birthday SM!
I have done far too much this weekend. Went to Cambridge yesterday to do some shopping which was a stupid idea as those that know Cambridge will know there's two lots of shopping areas and lots of walking involved. I was incredibly hot, bump hurt, lady bits hurt, everywhere hurt! Toilet stops every 30 mins, rest stops every hour. I will not be doing that again in pregnancy! Ended up having a two hour nap when I got home. Baby has been a bit quiet ever since but think it's just being lazy.
Today we wandered round the car boot, then had sooooo much house work to do. Just baked some cupcakes and now finally resting on the sofa whilst hubby gardens. At least dinner is easy is we are having yesterday's left over enchiladas. Phew, I'm exhausted just typing all that!
Last full week at work this week and my replacement starts tomorrow. I do have MW appt on Thurs so will get to leave a couple of hours earlier. Then the following week part time begins, then I finish early August. Yay!0 -
Yay for your last week at work bellola. Thanks for the birthday wishes too.
Good luck with the bag packing Rebekah - are you sure you don't want to accidentally get confused and pack MIL's bag too?
Just woken Moon up with a cup of tea so hopefully he'll be getting dressed and making lunch soon so we can go out to Starbucks afterwards. I'm just off to peruse the champney's price-list to plan what I can have done.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Happy birthday SM...clearly I missed that. It's mine of Friday so I'm looking for some babies to pop out from here as a pressie - only if they are due though!
OMG...hospital bags. I should think about what bag I'm going to take at some point. I hope I have a while yet though.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
