Not sure if you have seen this, I have posted a couple of times, but when you realise what changes are happening it is surprising we aren't in more pain.

LM, I've had low BP throughout this pregnancy, it has gotten lower everytime I've been. Last week it was 90/56! My midwife just said, oh it'll be through your boots at this rate. She didn't seem concerned though so I won't worry. I thought if anything I'd suffer from high BP as mine has always been on the high side.

    xx

Thanks.. sometimes just need re-assurance as DH is useless. well today he seems keen to tell friends. he apparently met some friend he used to work with and he told her and then he emailed to ask me if he could tell our other friends. :) bless him. i am sure he is excited. this morning i got offered a seat again. :) i went and got my 'baby on board badge' too so will make full use of it as the tubes and trains are so annoying.

Mine was 100/50 which is low but not too low. Also found out my blood group is A+.

My mum suffers from high blood pressure and apparently that makes me more prone to it? But I've always had normal blood pressure before I got pregnant.

My midwife keeps making a point of how "slight" and "tiny" I am!

She had to put a stool in front of the bed so I could get up.:rotfl:

I was getting so proud of my little baby bump until she said "Oh, there's hardly anything there!". :( I'm 16+3 and not really showing that much yet. She said that because I'm so small, no-one knows how much my hips etc will stretch either!

ACM - I've booked my antenatal classes hun it was Rups asking about them I just wanted to know if I would have to sit on the floor at all as my hips are bad and it would take me ages getting up lol.

To the lady buying the pump on ebay - even if they say no returns accepted if it doesn't work etc you can open a case against them through paypal and get your refund.

Rups - well done passing your theory

LadyM - I wouldn't take the bump comments personal, you will probably see someone else who says your bumps massive etc, everyone judges them differently.

As for me, I've had my 2nd GTT and my 28 week bloods, was having some bad stomach cramps and they were going to send me to maternity assessment unit but I think it's something I've eaten as I've now got the woo-woos :( so they said it's ok to go home but if it gets worse to give them a ring.

My OH went shopping and I think he must have picked up my bargain hunting skills, he bought 2 pairs of tracksuit/jogging bottom style trousers, a pair of blue combats, a rugby shirt and a polo neck t-shirt for bubs all brand new for £9.50! Was very impressed :) x

  • Congrats Rups on your theory test :j
LM try not to worry as long as baby is growing fine. According to the general great British public I was barely showing, mainy I had a bit of flab there before, and now I'm massive for my stage and having a massive baby. Am seeing consultant and midwife tomorrow so will see. I don't think people realise how their comments can make us feel. I'm sure your bump is beginning to come along nicely and as long as your comfortable don't worry. I didn't really start showing (a baby shape bump) until 20 ish weeks.
LittleMissGiggles sorry you felt you couldn't join in, never been on the ttc thread tbh. Hope you feel that you can join in now even in these lates stages. Hope your bubba makes an appearance soon. From what I nderstsnd it's the constant bombardment of "is anything happening yet?" texts/calls
Right I'm off for cooking part two. Need to dismantle my chicken and make sticky toffee pudding. Think the cat read "chicken" as she's just jumped off my lap all excited....daft beast!!

Congratulations on passing your theory test Rups.

Emsbet, I attended a group physio class. The lady explained about what happens to your ligaments during pregnancy and why this can cause problems. Then she explained about how important it is to hold your stomach and pelvic floor muscles in each time you move and she demonstrated a couple of exercises for us to do at home, mainly pelvic tilts and a variation of a sit up where you only lift your head rather than your shoulders off the floor. I was also given the opportunity to also book a one to one session with her (which I am going for on Friday).

You need to have told your employer by week 25 (strictly speaking by 15 weeks before your due date but for most people this will be week 25). At your 24 week appointment with your midwife she'll give you your maternity form which your employer may (or may not) want to see. You can tell people earlier if you like.

I'm still swimming. I went this morning at 39+5 :D. I did 30 lengths of a 25m pool (breaststroke). I used to do a combo of breast and crawl but I don't really have the puff for crawl at the moment. I do take it a little slower than I used to, I guess.
