    wow fast thread. lol.

ikkle hope you had a good rest. i had logged out and forced DH to join me otherwise he wakes me up later when he comes up.

i cant believe it is Sunday already too and evening is coming up gradually. sigh. i just cant seem to get on with theory test revision. had a driving lesson at 1 and instructor asked me how iw as doing, and i just told him, i am doing it all this weekend. :( i hope i pass tomorrow.

having period type cramps today again and i keep saying its all ok. :) keep talking more to the baby now as well. silly stuff like 'make sure you keep growing etc'. yep am losing it.

welcome to the newcomers too. :) totally understand about the anxiety esp as i had my mc in Jan so when i went for the scan on friday, i couldnt even look at the screen properly and missed the beginning. :(

griggsy at least you and your DH reached a compromise. i dont see us doing that as i was told what i should do. i will stick to my guns though and hope the bits are displayed and he can go out. i understand he wants a surprise and i wouldnt have minded, but i know me and the suspense would just get to me so i want to know. lets see if nearer the time, he will compromise. already him and mil are saying it will be a boy.lol oh dear. i told him he sounds an eldery Indian aunty who always says that a boy is vital to have first. lol.

I think I've caught up, possibly!!

have I missed it though, any news on fluffnutter? After being worried we'd had our money taken from us in some scam, our nursery mural which is paint by numbers jungle theme, came and so we spent friday night tracing around the shape and just waiting for some money to get the paints we need! both have days off/half day thursday so looking forward to starting painting, plus our re-delivery of nursery furniture is going to be then when I am 32+1... eek! things are coming together slowly, but I also have one of my busiest weeks this work with supply dance teaching and casual work - ick...

(((hugs))) to all who need them :) babys kicks feel quite painful and low down today, owie! xx

Good luck with the theory test Rups. I only passed both theory and practical a year ago, so I can remember the nerves well. I was really worried about failing the theory, but found once I got to the test place it wasn't as bad as I expected. How long have you been learning for?

Also with the period type cramps, I had them constantly from 6 weeks to 16 weeks. I spent the whole time terrified it meant something was going wrong, as in the past it had, but this time all was fine. I still get them occasionally now, but nowhere near as often.

Both myself and hubby wanted to know what we were having this time, as we needed to know for practicality. When I had my first we disagreed, he wanted to know and I didn't, but in the end curiosity got the better of me anyway. Once I got in the scan room I just couldn't resist finding out. Maybe your DH will get excited when the moment comes too.

Anybody getting ready to watch the match tonight? My son was so excited, jumping up and down desperate to watch, but in the last few hours he has come down with a headache and is feverish and sleepy :( I'll still be watching with DH though.

    Thanks Katyz. :)

Am now hazard perception-ed out.:rotfl: been trying some clips etc and am fed up now. I only started learning this weekend so havent given myself much time. :D if i fail i will re-book it asap. oops. i left it to the last minute but i swear i couldnt just find the time to revise. with the scan date arriving, i was just thinking of that. also am doing a nutrition course online. thankfully for that there arent any solid deadlnes so can take my time, but after this theory i better get that sorted.

was just thinking that we need to sort our carpet out upstairs too and sort out a baby room. i know people say that things can still go wrong even after the 12 week scan. i am going to assume otherwise now as been worryig way too much in the first trimester and am going to try and plan things in the house with DH. i wish in the scan he does change his mind but i know him. stubborn as anything. :p i will be upset if he stops me though as i def want to know. will have to be careful not to buy stuff infront of him. hehe

we are religiously watching all the games on TV so def tonight will be a nervous one. i hope we win. i do feel sorry for England as they never do well. hope this time they do. :) had my driving lesson earlier and even the instructor was saying he has his lessons out of the way to watch it. lol. :0) taking a break from theory tests now. :(

bikelesschic - re prams/pushchairs - i felt lost with the amount of choice - i signed up to £1 Which trial for a month (make sure you cancel it afterwards) to get some info. main things which will help narrow things down is your budget, decide on it and size of your boot. i have a corsa and they arent many models which will fit in a 100cm boot. i found kiddicare a great place to shop, they have a really big one in peterborough where i live.

Ikkle - nhs antenatal classes, no sitting on the floor just on chairs. we had 2 x 2 hour sessions which i didnt learn a lot from and felt they were quite negative in the way they looked at labour. no support with breathing or positions in these classes! argh! anyway i attend a daisy birthing class on my own which is on the floor as involved some yoga.

welcome to katyliz and sam W.

brought a car seat today, nothing amazing, just a baby weavers one from kiddicare, i didnt want to wait any longer for the one my sister had said she would lend me - currently being lent to her sister in law as i have 5 weeks till due date.

All baby clothes are now washed, there are quite a few! thank god for ikea underbed storage boxes.

re birthing nigthie - i brought one from primark for £3.50 - not really sure now much i will use this as want a water birth.

i am confused/worried about how long to wait until i go to hospital when in labour - dont want to end up in hospital for hours so want to stay at home as long as possible but not too late that i give birth in a car (even though the journey is only 10 mins to hospital)

i wish i didnt have to work this week - 3 weeks left....

Ah thanks Jedi I won't be doing daisy birthing classes then as I can't sit on the floor lol. Trying to find a decent hypnobirthing book but don't know where to start x

Thanks for that and all the other suggestions (e.g. ebay). Unfortuanely DH doesn't want to buy a second hand pram/car seat - I think he'd be ok if it was someone we know but no one has offered so far.

I'll probably have a quick look at which. I'd seen the £1 trial thing but have just been looking for free reviews on the internet. That's a good idea though!

Unfortunately no kiddicare nearby but I think I found an independent retailer that may be helpful (they don't open on Sundays so I'll try Tuesday after work).

I was quite keen on one of the graco travel systems from babiesrus that's currently on offer but DH kindly reminded that we need a 3 wheeler for offroad walks with the dog. Someone recommended the phil & teds classic but the reviews are not amazing so our best bet to far is the m&p sport 03. Size isn't really an issue so it's more about reliability I think... the search continues! Anyone on here has any 3 wheelers? Apart from quinnys (DH not keen on them!).

Welcome KatyLiz and SamW  I'm doubly glad that you joined us as it pushes me down a couple of places on the list;) it's just been moving way too quickly recently!

Hi bikelesschick - I had a 3 wheeler with my daughter, no idea what the current models are like, but the one we had drove us crazy. It was so hard to push! I liked to be able to push one handed so I could carry an umbrella etc and it just couldn't be steered that way. I ended up getting annoyed and buying a Maclaren as soon as she was 6 months. They don't look as good, but I found them so much more practical, and I could push it through anything. I haven't given any thought to what I'll get this time, we don't intend to buy anything until after the kids are back at school in September.

jediquigley - I second your recommendation of kiddicare. We live 25 minutes away, and we'll be heading to buy all the big bits there. Although the shop is in Peterborough I think the online store is pretty good now, so it could be worth ordering for anyone who lives further out. My sister got the dream weavers car seat for her baby and she says it is far better than any of the expensive ones she's had in the past, so hopefully it should be a good buy.

Bikeless chick we've got a Hauck Viper Trio which is a 3 wheeler, we got the car seat and carry cot with it too and I have to say I love it. I tested it out with my friends baby the other week and she's gone on to buy one lol.
