MissMonkeyMoo wrote: »Horrors! I can't get a flight that gets me into Glasgow in time for my meeting on Friday so I am going to have to fly the day before and stop over! OH is really not happy; he doesn't want me to go and thinks it is going to be too much for me. I haven't told him yet I will have to stop over - that is going to send him over the edge! I sometimes think that he thinks my job isn't all that important, and as that I won't be working for a while when baby comes that it doesn't matter! But I can't just give up on my position and responsibilities! Aaarrgggghhhh! I think i will be fine with the flight - someone will give me lift to airport and I have a lift arranged at the other end too. I get to stay in a hotel for the night - so can have a leisurely evening with an early night - then fly back the next day after the meeting. It may actually be quite good to have some 'me' time. I know OH won't see it this way though and now I am stressing out.:(
This may be a silly suggestion, but is there an option for your DH to come with you? Obviously he'd have to entertain himself whilst you're at your meeting (and you don't get your "me" time!), but maybe he'd feel better knowing that he's around if you need him. TBH honest I understand how he feels, and I reckon my DH would feel the same.

Fluffnutter - glad your scan went well, not long to go for you now, baby sounds a good weight. Are you and your partner tall?
I'm not but the OH's legs are 37 inches
Got discharged from consultant-led care today as BP has behaved itself throughout the pregnancy despite starting off high. Woo-hoo. Won't be automatically induced at term and don't need to go to the full-on labour ward.
Now I can use reflexology and scented candles for pain relief whilst giving birth in next door's paddling pool"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Morning all!
Emsbet, those baskets are lovely! We've got a bit more time to sort everything out which is a relief, as at the moment the room we're planning on using as a nursery is sort of an overflow-storage area, and we're in the process of making arrangements to knock down a wall between our kitchen and dining room and have a new kitchen put in in the next few months. Eek. Still, it'll be nice when it's done!
Sounds like there's going to be a flurry of babies soon, lots of people being induced, how exciting! Labour vibes to everyone, hope it goes well.
I have a call for help to make - my stepmother (who is lovely) said that she was getting her knitting needles out when we told her and my dad that there was a grandchild on the way. I know that a lot of you are crafty and I was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of 'nice' knitted things and patterns so that [STRIKE]I don't end up with a load of dated tat[/STRIKE] we can put in some requests for stuff that we'd actually use?

sexymouse, hope your heartburn eases off. I'm a sufferer too (even without being pregnant) and it's the pits, isn't it? Luckily mine's kept at bay with 20mg of omeprazole and the odd top-up of Gaviscon. Hopefully the increased dose will help. My brother's (who's a doctor and a heartburn sufferer) always swears by increasing the dose - says it's usually effective if you do this. I've probably mentioned this before but try to take it at the same time each day, I find first thing in the morning's best.
MrsBryan, wonderful news about your BIL and his wife. My baby's IVF so I know just how awesome that BFP feels"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Thanks fluffnutter - I was taking the intial prescription first thing in the morning when I woke up - partly so I wouldn't forget to take it too. Have you found that your heartburn has been worse since you've been pregnant or has it made no difference? Hopefully yours may disappear once Muffin arrives - my friend had IBS pre-pregnancy and hers completely disappeared after she had her first baby - it's so weird what these hormones can do to our bodies. lol
Congratulations to your BIL MrsBryan - that's amazing news!Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Thanks fluffnutter I'm SO happy for them, especially as it was their last one they could afford, it just seems meant to be!
SIL had a brain hemorrhage 2 years ago and we nearly lost her, so that put them back a few steps too. They've just been through so much, I'm over the moon for them!Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference0 -

Slightly worse, but still manageable. I have to top up occasionally at night with some Gaviscon (perhaps a couple of times a week).
Having said that, I don't drink now (obviously) and it was always alcohol (white wine in particular) that was the killer for me.
I'd love to be free of it, but I've suffered for the past 20 years so I'm not holding out much hope! My whole family's the same, and the OH. We've got shares in companies that manufacture omeprazole!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Check out ravelry.com, there are loads of free patterns you can print off for her. I'm a crocheter, and have made a couple of lovely blankets from there (but no knitting ones to suggest I'm afraid!)Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

BB no, he has to work Friday and even if he could get the day off, my work won't cover the cost of his flight and it's just under £400! It's money we can't spare at the moment. I just know he is going to be really stroppy with me tonight now.0

I don't think you can get pregnant from a 69, or a 99 for that matter :rotfl::rotfl:Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89
