ooh Emsbet, I love those! Can I be cheeky and ask where you got them? :p

I got them from here, they do various sizes, finishes and linings. I think we paid about £42 for the six including delivery.

Cheers :) We have a little shelf unit on the boxed in stair rise (built in changing table!) and I've been looking for some baskets to use for bits and pieces

Well back from dr, and he's given me an increased dosage of omeprazole (40mg as opposed to the 20mg I was on last time I had it), and said I can continue with the Gaviscon on top - he said if that still doesn't work, he will review me in a few weeks and see if there is a different medication he can give me in place of the omeprazole. He thinks the reason I was given the lowest dose of the omeprazole when I initially had it (it worked for a month and a half then stopped working so I was told by a different dr to try Gaviscon instead) was because I was early on in the pregnancy (I think I was around 14 weeks) and the doctor was being cautious. Fingers crossed it all works this time.

Congratulations on reaching the third trimester emsbet - hope your sickness clears up soon too. Love the basket - it will go really well with your wall stickers.

Hope you and your wife managed to get some sleep last night ww2br. Fingers crossed your little one will make their appearance today.

BB you must be relieved that you've got a little more time left to get prepared for baby's arrival.

Hugs to all who need or want them,

    Morning all

whowants2brich hope you managed to get some shut eye last night and that things progress well for your wife today!

BB yes there is! Got it from one of my friends at my baby shower, its in the moses basket at the moment so am using the box for bits n bobs. Glad all went well today with your internal, sounds like a good plan to be in over the weekend. Exciting!! :D

emsbet woohoo for third trimester!! I'll second that it flies by! Love the baskets!

OH mum and dad split up years ago and have both got new partners so our baby will have 3 sets of grandparents! All called Nanny and Grandad. I get upset when I think that my Nan's won't be around to meet our baby though, and he won't have any great-grandparents. Will make sure he knows all about them though!

Had the best news ever this morning!! OH brother and wife have been TTC for over 8 years, have had so many rounds of fertility treatment and have just had there 3rd and last (run out of money!) IVF cycle.....and she text me this morning, its a BFP!! :D:T:D

So pleased for them, can't stop grinning!!
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference :)
  • Horrors! I can't get a flight that gets me into Glasgow in time for my meeting on Friday so I am going to have to fly the day before and stop over! OH is really not happy; he doesn't want me to go and thinks it is going to be too much for me. I haven't told him yet I will have to stop over - that is going to send him over the edge! I sometimes think that he thinks my job isn't all that important, and as that I won't be working for a while when baby comes that it doesn't matter! But I can't just give up on my position and responsibilities! Aaarrgggghhhh! I think i will be fine with the flight - someone will give me lift to airport and I have a lift arranged at the other end too. I get to stay in a hotel for the night - so can have a leisurely evening with an early night - then fly back the next day after the meeting. It may actually be quite good to have some 'me' time. I know OH won't see it this way though and now I am stressing out.:(

This may be a silly suggestion, but is there an option for your DH to come with you? Obviously he'd have to entertain himself whilst you're at your meeting (and you don't get your "me" time!), but maybe he'd feel better knowing that he's around if you need him. TBH honest I understand how he feels, and I reckon my DH would feel the same.

Fluffnutter - glad your scan went well, not long to go for you now, baby sounds a good weight. Are you and your partner tall?

I'm not but the OH's legs are 37 inches

Got discharged from consultant-led care today as BP has behaved itself throughout the pregnancy despite starting off high. Woo-hoo. Won't be automatically induced at term and don't need to go to the full-on labour ward.

Now I can use reflexology and scented candles for pain relief whilst giving birth in next door's paddling pool :D

    Morning all!

Emsbet, those baskets are lovely! We've got a bit more time to sort everything out which is a relief, as at the moment the room we're planning on using as a nursery is sort of an overflow-storage area, and we're in the process of making arrangements to knock down a wall between our kitchen and dining room and have a new kitchen put in in the next few months. Eek. Still, it'll be nice when it's done!

Sounds like there's going to be a flurry of babies soon, lots of people being induced, how exciting! Labour vibes to everyone, hope it goes well.

I have a call for help to make - my stepmother (who is lovely) said that she was getting her knitting needles out when we told her and my dad that there was a grandchild on the way. I know that a lot of you are crafty and I was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of 'nice' knitted things and patterns so that [STRIKE]I don't end up with a load of dated tat[/STRIKE] we can put in some requests for stuff that we'd actually use?

    Ta muchly :)

sexymouse, hope your heartburn eases off. I'm a sufferer too (even without being pregnant) and it's the pits, isn't it? Luckily mine's kept at bay with 20mg of omeprazole and the odd top-up of Gaviscon. Hopefully the increased dose will help. My brother's (who's a doctor and a heartburn sufferer) always swears by increasing the dose - says it's usually effective if you do this. I've probably mentioned this before but try to take it at the same time each day, I find first thing in the morning's best.

MrsBryan, wonderful news about your BIL and his wife. My baby's IVF so I know just how awesome that BFP feels :D
