I've finally managed to find some baskets to go on the shelves in the nursery. DH went and picked them up from the sorting office this morning. I love them I got six, and they are quite a nice size and will be good for holding things like nappies and baby toiletries. Here's a picture of one of them;

Yay for reaching 3rd trimester emsbet, nearly there...! Warning - the final trimester whizzes by in a scary fashion!

Just got back from the clinic, having had my internal. Didn't actually have a sweep as cervix not open enough, but she said that it is soft and "can get a fingertip in" (eww), which is good news. After much discussion we decided to compromise and not go for induction today/tomorrow, which is what the consultant wanted. Instead, she has booked me in for induction on saturday (which means going in on fri evening for pessary), following another internal friday morning. That internal will let us know what my cervix is up to, whether pessary looks like it'll work well etc. Keen not to be induced until pessary looking like it'll do the trick, as I really want to stay on the midwife-led ward.

Suits me ok as hospital quieter over weekend as a rule, plus DH can be with me most of the time without "wasting" paternity leave before baby actually arrives.

In the meantime, I've been instructed to bounce around on my ball, walk about etc, to try and kick start labour naturally before friday! Never know, her rummaging around up in my nethers might have tickled baby into action.

I got them from here, they do various sizes, finishes and linings. I think we paid about £42 for the six including delivery.

Cheers We have a little shelf unit on the boxed in stair rise (built in changing table!) and I've been looking for some baskets to use for bits and pieces

I spent ages trying to find boxes a liked and couldn't find anything DH found that site straight away!

Well back from dr, and he's given me an increased dosage of omeprazole (40mg as opposed to the 20mg I was on last time I had it), and said I can continue with the Gaviscon on top - he said if that still doesn't work, he will review me in a few weeks and see if there is a different medication he can give me in place of the omeprazole. He thinks the reason I was given the lowest dose of the omeprazole when I initially had it (it worked for a month and a half then stopped working so I was told by a different dr to try Gaviscon instead) was because I was early on in the pregnancy (I think I was around 14 weeks) and the doctor was being cautious. Fingers crossed it all works this time.

Congratulations on reaching the third trimester emsbet - hope your sickness clears up soon too. Love the basket - it will go really well with your wall stickers.

Hope you and your wife managed to get some sleep last night ww2br. Fingers crossed your little one will make their appearance today.

BB you must be relieved that you've got a little more time left to get prepared for baby's arrival.

BB yes there is! Got it from one of my friends at my baby shower, its in the moses basket at the moment so am using the box for bits n bobs. Glad all went well today with your internal, sounds like a good plan to be in over the weekend. Exciting!!

emsbet woohoo for third trimester!! I'll second that it flies by! Love the baskets!

OH mum and dad split up years ago and have both got new partners so our baby will have 3 sets of grandparents! All called Nanny and Grandad. I get upset when I think that my Nan's won't be around to meet our baby though, and he won't have any great-grandparents. Will make sure he knows all about them though!

Had the best news ever this morning!! OH brother and wife have been TTC for over 8 years, have had so many rounds of fertility treatment and have just had there 3rd and last (run out of money!) IVF cycle.....and she text me this morning, its a BFP!! :T:D

So pleased for them, can't stop grinning!!

Horrors! I can't get a flight that gets me into Glasgow in time for my meeting on Friday so I am going to have to fly the day before and stop over! OH is really not happy; he doesn't want me to go and thinks it is going to be too much for me. I haven't told him yet I will have to stop over - that is going to send him over the edge! I sometimes think that he thinks my job isn't all that important, and as that I won't be working for a while when baby comes that it doesn't matter! But I can't just give up on my position and responsibilities! Aaarrgggghhhh! I think i will be fine with the flight - someone will give me lift to airport and I have a lift arranged at the other end too. I get to stay in a hotel for the night - so can have a leisurely evening with an early night - then fly back the next day after the meeting. It may actually be quite good to have some 'me' time. I know OH won't see it this way though and now I am stressing out.:(
