FINALLY my parcel arrived from Yodel! (cot mattress) I can leave the house at last! Not that I want to, particularly, I'm wearing leggings, a hoody covered in paint and bleach stains and slouch socks, plus it's raining. Still, nice to have the option!

My friend just popped round for a cup of tea and she brought cake with her - what a mate! Also she brought the cutest little wooden guardian angel thingy for the baby's room
I had a sudden flurry of activity this afternoon - rushed around wiping fingerprints off the paintwork in every room, did some washing up, and mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors! Gosh.
Debating tackling the fridge too, it really needs a clear out and a clean...that may be a day's work in itself, though, god knows what's in there.
Got some ouchy period pains today, hope it's something useful.

We were unplanned - a happily unplanned but still took a good few months for that to sink in!
I can't wait to be a Mummy but it's going from bump to Mum that scares me slightly! Reading some of the birth stories here has helped a lot though.
Hi Elji welcome :-) I was exactly the same. Very unplanned and I just couldn't let myself get excited until the 12 week scan as I just thought no way. Don't get me wrong we were always very happy about. But now at 26+ weeks I can't remember not being pregnant and am just about believing it lol.
Wow congrats Monks!! lovely name. Sounds like the perfect labour to me :-)
SM hope hubby gets home ok.
I'm reading on my phone and remember what I saw lol!
Missmonkeymoo if you pm the address I'll post the vouchers :-)

Moon home safe and sound
, but for some reason traffic seems to be diverting down our road and travelling at much too high a speed seeing as it's a twisty road and people park on both sides of the street. Our double glazing isn't vey soundproof (needs replacing), so the constant buzz is starting to get on my nerves. Was hoping to have a little nap in a minute, but the head of our bed faces the road.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
I was thinking about joining the Newborn group on facebook.... I'm not a big facebook user but thought it might be a good supportive mine of information!
Will all my facebook friends be able to see that I've joined this group, though? Not sure I want to advertise the fact, particularly as I haven't even said on there that I'm even pregnant!
Also, who do I PM to enlist?

And I really must get round to sanding those floorboards...

welcome punkpink - in a way its quite nice to know at a later date like 18 weeks as we knew from a few days before my period was due and it felt like ages till first scan. glad everything was fine on your scan.
Betty definately see your midwife or docs about the swollen feet, best to be safe then sorry:)
Monks - congratulations on your birth, nice quick labour as well.
well me & OH attended our first NHs antenatal class today - it actually made me more scared of labour as there was a lot of empahsis on pain!!! also saying that with your first you could be in early labour for days and by the time you get into established labour you may be desperate for pain relief. my OH wasnt happy about how keen the midwife seemed to be on interventions.
anyway it was all a bit negative. i have my daisy birthing class tonight which is about relaxation, breathing and hypnobirthing which i hope will be more positive.
off to make some dinner (OH currently shouting at TV - england match - blah)
speak to you ladies soon,
