Congratulations Monks, hope labour can be so good on some others too, for some reason all my family seem intent on telling me horror stories! X

    Congrats Monk!

    Condolencies Kabie.

I'm back from seeing the obstetrician and basically he said that, while I'm getting palps at the same frequency (approx every 2 weeks) then they will continue to treat my pregnancy and labour as per normal.

If I start getting them more regularly then I need to go back.

Although it was good news, it felt a bit dismissive actually! I had to re-iterate that my palps are not a factor in planning my labour at all and he said no! We also got to see baby again on a quick scan which was lovely, and he said the size is good.

I was absolutely exhausted afterwards though, think I'd built myself up a bit for the appointment and I was waiting outside the labour ward seeing all these partners go into see their wives/girlfriends, and I saw a woman being wheeled around holding her new baby, it was all so emotional! Reminded me I haven't really got that long to go...
  • Congrats Monks! So thrilled for you!

I'm now sat in bed eating some salad; did go to work today but have felt rubbish since I got up and didn't feel any better by noon. Tabby is now trying to steal my lunch and the tortie has come to see what she is missing out on now....

Hi all, I am a lurker here, well put myself on the list but never got round to saying hello!
EDD 6th July, on holiday now till maternity leave starts, in which time I have a lot of revision to be done as I have an exam on 20th June and then I can rest till baby makes an appearance!

It all seems very surreal and I still can't quite believe I'll be giving birth at some point soon. Has anyone else felt like this?
    E xx
  • Elj2287 - welcome! And yes, I get how you are feeling - every day I think how surreal the whole pregnancy thing is. I know I am pregnant but yet I still don't quite believe it. It's like I'm in a bubble or something!

LOL my due date is this Thursday - 3 days time - and I still feel like this! :rotfl:

I'm sure reality will hit at some point...with my first contraction? when baby crowns? when I see baby for the first time? when we get home and think WHAT THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS?!!!
