triangle, hope everything goes ok at your scan today. I'm sure everything will be fine, but at least your LO is big enough now that even if you did need to be induced there wouldn't be a problem. Don't you dare leapfrog me though!! ;)

RE sciatica, I used to have that (pre-pregnancy). I had a course of physio, which really helped. Might be worth pursuing that - MW's aren't specialists when it comes to this kind of thing, but if she can refer you to the hospital physio that might help.

Still no excitement from me, just the same twinges and a bit of period pain.

    BB x

  • Morning all!

Wow, it takes me forever to read back over all the posts on a Monday morning!

museumworker - glad to hear that you and baby are ok after your fall. that must have been so scary for you though.

kabie - congrats on the birth of your little boy and I;m also so sorry to hear about your mum. sending you lots of hugs x

Triangle - good luck for the growth scan, as others have said i am sure it is all just routine

BB1984 - making choc brownies is a very productive way of spending your maternity leave! I hope my own leave is filled with similar activities!

Been feeling pretty rubbish over the last few weeks; keep getting a stuffed up nose which OH reckons is a pregnancy symptom - has anyone else suffered from this? Have also been feeling slightly nauseous again, wondered if this is to do with baby having a growth spurt as I'm coming up to 27 weeks and I'm sure we read somewhere that they have a growth spurt between 24 - 28 weeks? Was also very light headed yesterday, but seeing midwife tomorrow so will go through all of this with her and see what she says. LO still has days where he doesn't seem to move around very much, but then when he does kick it's a good un! OH likes to put his ear to my belly and tells me when he can hear noises - he has got into the habit now of tellign me when baby is asleep or awake!

Still not made any decisions on heating for the house (aaargggghhh!) - OH and I still can't agree but have set this Sat as the day that we need to finalise details and place and order so one way or another it will be sorted. Also off to look at a flooring place on Saturday so hopefully, things are starting to come together now. :D

Looked at nursery furniture last night - saw a few that i liked but OH only likes one set so i am going to let him have his own way on this one (means I should be able to get my own way on other stuff, heh-heh-heh!) We're going for the Winnie the POoh Antique Pine Set and Starry Nights bedding from Babies-r-us. Just really gutted that we didn;t get our !!!! into gear and choose it last weekend when we could have got 20% off the whole thing! How rubbish are we! :rotfl:Will have to scour the net and see if there are any money off deals anywhere, although Mum and Dad have said that they would like ot buy the cot bed for us so that will help out. Also had a loveley catch up with a couple of mates at the weekend - one had bought us a steriliser, travel bottle and warmer and a newborn outfit and the other is preparing us a hamper of essential goodies! I nearly cried when I found out - makes me realise that i have got some great mates! Oh and another friend gave birth to a little girl last Friday so I cried at that too!

Daft tabby cat has got very affectionate over the last couple of weeks too; not sure if he senses something now, but he used to sleep downstairs or at the end of the bed but for the last few nights he has come and sat next to me. OH said the other morning that I was lying on my side and tabby was perched on top of me!

Hope everyone has a lovely day - sending out labour vibes to all that need/want them!

    Hi ladies, this is my first post here so a little nervous but here goes;

I have just found out i am expecting a little girl on 8th november, shocking to think i didnt find out until 18 weeks but it would have been longer if my OH hadnt suggested we go for a private scan (after waiting to hear from the NHS for a week and getting stressed out) but found out all is well, which is great news after being told a few years ago that i would struggle to ever conceive.
Im looking forward to reading everyones stories and finding out bits that i need to do and when to do them and generally havin the feeling that you are not alone in such a daunting phase.

On a side note would anybody like to give me some feedback on the name that we have selected (for now anyway)? Its been hard going through loads over the weekend but as we will have a very long surname (its double barrelled) we wanted something quite easy and short and we finally settled on Tylah.

Hoping to fit right in, Vikki x

    Morning all!

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy kabie, and I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. It must be such a difficult time for you at the moment - I hope you have lots of support around you. Fingers crossed the breastfeeding counsellor is able to help you.

Well I watched the repeat of One Born Every Minute last night, and nearly cried at the water birth one again! I think it's the fact that the Dad was so emotional about it all that got me. I then watched Dear John (loved it but it was also very heartwrenching). Surprisingly I didn't cry with the film though I welled up with OBEM. Moon got home from his shooting club half-way through the film, and watched the end with me, and he enjoyed it too. Trouble is, I spent the whole time worrying about a friend's husband who is in the US (their baby girl is just 3 months old) and is training to be deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months! We met them both on honeymoon, and they are a really sweet couple (only 21 and 22). Luckily they have a really big family who can help support her whilst he's away.

MissMonkeyMoo it may be worth holding out on ordering your cot etc from Babies r Us, as the last 20% off event happened only a matter of weeks after the first one, and if it's a cot they have in stock regularly, then you can collect it on the day from store. I'm sure between now and September they'll have another event. Love the story about tabby cat - my cat has gone off coming on the bed with me and I miss him bump guarding. :(

Fingers crossed for the scan today Triangle - I'll be thinking of you. It may be that you're measuring differently because the baby has changed position, so try not to worry too much.

    Welcome to the thread vikki.

Good luck to everyone who is experiencing twinges that could mean things are progressing. Hugs to all in pain with backs etc.

    sexymouse xx
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Sexymouse - thanks for the heads up! I think the cot is out of stock at the mo anyway and not due back in until August! So we could hold off ordering anything until then and hope that some event comes up in the meantime. The nursery isn't going to be ready until Aug anyway, so it may time quite well, all said and done!

Welcome Vikki! Love the name and the unusual spelling! We've got our hearts set on a partivualr name if we have a little boy and we have a couple of firm favourites for a girl but as there's every chance that we m,ight change our mind when LO comes along we're going to keep them under our hats for now!

 Welcome Vikki! I've added you to the list :)

dizzi, I think you can get SPD at anytime. Some people get it really early on and others get it right at the end.

Emsbet Thanks for adding me :)
MonkeyMoo we thought the spelling was lovely but all can change especially when we see her but we wanted something that was a bit different but not too 'out there'.

Glad i'm not the only one who is feeling a bit tired and like i have cramps, it keeps worrying me!

Right I'm off to the doctors shortly to get these palpitation symptoms chased up. Was speaking to my aunty last night who pointed out that 2 of my much elder cousins (who I didn't know) died of heart attacks in their early 30s. I'm 30....thanks. lol.

I'd rather she have kept that to herself tbh! Still defo making me push it at the doctors a bit more. I will be taken seriously damn it.
