yikes rjn hope the flight isnt too long for your mum to get to you? would be sad if you didnt have OH with you.
Mrs Manda - sounds like things are progressing for you
museumworker - sounds like a nasty fall, glad to hear things are ok. if your braxton hics are measuring 40-50% does that indicate when labour may begin?
33 weeks tomorrow and feeling it - bump feels big and still has 7 weeks to grow eekk. no braxton hics yet which is disappointing but have leaky boobs lol
when on vitual tour of my mat unit today on line, looks good , they have one birthing pool room which i will go for if i am allowed and no one else is using, they also have 4 active birthing rooms which is my second option. i started writing a rough birth plan yesterday.
i have a really busy week ahead, with 2 lots of antenatal classes, midwife appt, working 4 and a half days as a secretary then seeing 2 clients for nutrition in the evening - i will be pleased when this week is over.
i am worried about lasting another 5 weeks at work as feel very busy at the moment and would like to be resting more.

It's not too long a flight it's just depends on how regular they are. And obviously they don't fly in middle
Of night. Very scary!!! But alas everything about the past seven months has been unplanned so why change now.
So sorry bout your mum. I hope u can just try yor best to do what Ivan for the sake of your little one. Giant gigs.love you lots like jelly tots0 -
Thank you all for the warm welcome and adding me to the list:) it feels a bit weird being 62 when we're completely unprepared for baby. The only things we have are a moses basket with bedding some some free nappies. I really want the reusable nappies but DH isn't keen. I think he is concerned about the 'mess' so we may just need to go for disposables full stop
kabie - I've only just joined this thread but wanted to say sorry for your loss anyway.:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
There's been a lot going on for me, hence my lack of posts. My mother had been quite ill & died 4 days before babs was born. I was in hospital for a couple of days before the birth & sent home only to return that night for a short labour - all started when waters broke at 1.55am & born at 3.15am.
Had a boy 8llb 6 no name yet. I'm breastfeeding but in a bit of a mess.
So very sorry about your Mum, and how she didn;t get to meet your little boy. xx0 -

Museum - glad all was okay - I had a bump in my car at about 25 weeks and gave myself a real fright - as you say, the time waiting to get the monitor on is terrifying.0

Congratulations for the birth of your lovely little boy Kabie, glad he's ok, does sound like a short labour. So sorry to hear about your mum, sending lots of hugs to you xxxx
Museum it does sound nasty, glad bubba is ok. Sorry you're so sore thoughthe BH sound almost terrifying. If you're coping ok now at 50% hopefully you'll be great at 100%!
MrsManda hopefully baby will stay put now. But if anyone does to the secret to a quick, painless labour please, please share it....you could probably be rich selling the secret!
Ahh BB I really thought there would be some baby news today. Hole bubba doesn't keep you hanging on too much longer
Happy due date Kelda and Monks
RJH hopefully labour will start in the morning so your mum can get here.
Ikkle hope your OH got on ok on his first day in his job.
Hello to everyone else, hope you're enjoying the last bits of the weekend
Went car booting this am, I didn't buy muchmum who does get to any near here had a field day, lots of crafty stuff. Some of which I have *ahem* acquired
OH bought 48 cans of ginger beer, yep exactly what we need roll eyes: and a couple of bits of "make useful things" to go in his man drawer probably never to be seen again. Got my chicken roasting and crumble ready to go in the oven. Been a busyish day today although not seemed to have down a lot if that makes sense?
The cooker dinged......chicken time

Sorry to hear about your mum Kabie, that's so sad. But big congratulations on the safe arrival of your little manYou didn't say what day he was born but I think all new mums are a bit of a mess at first, and you've had more than most to deal with! Feel free to post here as/when/if you want to.
museumworker wrote: »Hello all - had a major scare yesterday. Tripped on a step - and fell straight onto the bump, it was a really nasty fall.
What was interesting was that the monitor measured 'toco' (tightenings and contractions) - have been having period pains and BH for weeks, and these showed up on the monitor - was getting ones up to 40-50%! Didn't think they'd register at all so was quite surprised.
Gosh that must have been so scary. I had a fall at about 16 weeks and that was worrying, but I'd be terrified if I fell on my bump now it's so huge. Glad you are both ok, hope you're not too battered and bruised
It's really interesting being hooked up to the TOCO monitor isn't it? As I may have mentioned (only once or twice, lol!) I've been having really strong BH, and when I was being monitored on Fri, mine went up to 99! They're quite uncomfortable, but as DH said, if that's as bad as they're gonna get, labour should be a breeze....! (yeah right!):rotfl:
This maternity leave lark is bad for me - made chocolate brownies this afternoon. Have basically spent the whole day sitting around in my PJs, playing with my phone, watching tv, had a bath, drinking tea, and eating cake...!
Having bangers and mash for tea, nom nom nom.

I'm having homemade cheesey burgers on buns with tomato ketchup and balsamic vinegar. With a side salad that has a balsamic vinegar dressing. Yummy...just need to get up off my bum to cook it now.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
