AMC, the breast pumps I've seen most highly rated are the medela ones, particularly the Swing. It's pricey though! I've got the medela mini electric, which is a bit cheaper, mine was second hand so even cheaper again!

Not sure about sterilisers, I haven't got one yet. Have been given a load of dr browns bottles, so need one suitable for those- I think the tommy tippee microwave one is compatible but not sure. To be honest, I reckon they're all much of a muchness, it's just whether your stuff fits in it ok.

I got the whole avent shebang. But paid a lot less for it. Got feast pump for 4.99 in SuperDrive. Sterilizer was half price. £10 and got newborn essentials set too also £12. So got a tone of bottles included. I used Tommie tipper last time and didn't love it so thought I would try something different.i have seen the sterilizer for around £10-12 in tons of places so don't pay more than that. Check tesco think that was last place I saw it.

I'm after an electric breast pump too but don't want to shell out loads for it. I like the thought of 2nd hand except it's been on someone else's b00b! Can you replace parts? And if so what bits?

Probably the expensive bits, thus taking the price of your second-hand pump up to the cost of a new one.

Here's eBay's advice on what parts to replace - basically anything that comes into contact with milk. With the medela especially it didn't work out much cheaper as their re-sale value is quite high. I ended up getting a medela swing pump in babies r us 20% off as I have heard fab things about it and didn't want to get a cheaper one and have to buy it anyway later on. The medela mini is supposed to be quite good to and that's cheaper.

Right today I am going to attack the nursery some more. I have clothes all the over the floor (mine not babies!) to sort out what stummer stuff I can fit into and what I can chuck back in the suit case for storage. Am I the only one who swaps my clothes over spring and autumn?! lol. Once thats done I can move that out and in the office wardrobe for storage and actually get in and sort things out for little lady. We now have our scheme sorted. Lilac and lemon winnie the pooh. Mega excited am I!!

I think I'm going to get a nice comfy ball to sit on. Does everyone have proper pregnancy ones or are the gym ones just as good? Where is the best place to get them and what sort of price? Going to try and order today so it's here when I'm back from France.

Avent steriliser - careful - doesn't fit easily in all microwaves (yes I fell foul of this one), we had to take the plate out to get it into ours. In the end we decided rapidly it was too much faff and went out to hunt down a ye olde bucket o'Milton type steriliser which works much better for us.

Electric pumps - used the Medela ones in the hospital - they're fantastic, but pricey - but you can hire them out on a monthly basis at least... bought an Avent electric one when we came home - it's crap, started to develop faults within a fortnight.

As for the Athlete song - had it running through my head a lot of the time Erin was on NNICU.

No baby new

Big fuss yesterday, got put in a private high dependency room, had two doctors and a midwife (plus a student). Was checked every 15 mins .... Obviously no nonsense or being kept waiting around when you're classed as high risk on the delivery suite!!!

Anyway, BP, for the first time ever in hospital DROPPED. Not ony that, but it stayed consistently low. Baby monitoring was fine, and they tested urine and found in the space of an hour the protein had halved. Full set of bloods (rushed through as urgent) came back perfectly fine, and BP actually dropped to within normal levels by this point.

Doctors were a bit baffled, but after an internal they said they were pleased I had gone from completely closed thurs afternoon to being able to do a successful sweep only two days later.

So...after scratching their heads a bit they said as BP, baby, urine and bloods were all normal then I should really go home!!!!!

I'd already had a show sat morning, and ever since the sweep ive had more and more of it, and it's bloody (sorry tmi!). Lots of twinges in the stomach and constant back ache that increases and decreases but is always at a certain low level.

I'm quite gutted as although it wasn't what I wanted, I had accepted that I was going in to hospital to be induced, and the midwife had said I wouldn't be coming home until I'd had baby - so to be sent home only 4 hours later I was disappointed to say the least!!!! And what a lot of fuss over nothing really!!!!

If the sweep doesn't work they have brought forward my induction to Tuesday, so I'm just desperately bouncing/rocking on my gym ball and hoping for things to get a wriggle on!!

Sorry to disappoint everyone, blame the midwife for getting it wrong lol!!
