I am not looking forward to the prospect of C-section. With twins, the chances of getting one are higher, or even worse, you deliver one naturally, and the second one needs emergency c-section, so you end up being sore on boths ends!!!!! I myself was born breach, but naturally, and had dislocated hips because of that (or so I am told), spent my first 8 months or so in a brace.

I am not scared of the operation. What worries me is the recovery!!!!!! I had a laporoscopy few years back, and even that was not an easy recovery - my scar didn't heal very quickly, the stitched took over a month if not more to 'dissolve', and I was sore for quite a while. So, having a bigger cut, through more layers of me, doesn't sound like a way to fast recovery!

You just have to go with the flow, don't you really :) I've not made a birth plan, don't see the point being honest. I will do what they tell me, when they tell me and the rest of the time hope my body will sort of take over :o I'm completely laid back about the whole thing, which is scary. He has to come out some way, whether it's naturally or through the sun roof or naturally with some help from the lovely medical people he'l get here.

Recovery from a planned c sect is supposed to be a lot easier, so if you do go down that route, you may know before hand. I said this to a few people if I ended up needing a c section it wouldn't bother me so much, but the thought of an emergency one scares me.

:rotfl: :rotfl: haha love it :D

I think going into labour with an open mind is the best way. There are things that I would like, such as a water birth, but if my bp stays high then there's less chance of being allowed that anyway. Plus things beyond my control could happen at the last minute and turn the whole thing on it's head, so until it's all happening then there's no way of knowing how it's going to go. It sounds like we've all got sensible heads on our shoulders! :D

I don't want to end up beating myself up because I didn't get the birth I wanted/planned. So I've just not really thought about it. One of those things, even if you do everything right, something can go wrong.

As long as I have my healthy baby boy at the end of it, I won't complain :)

    Hi Ladies,

Very quickly popping through to say a big congrats to Ro!! Well done and I hope you and baby are doing well!

Also good luck to Toniq for Friday, everything will be fine!

To anybody else worrying about c-sections - don't!! I'd never had an op before my section and I have just about recovered now. The spinal didn't hurt (my biggest fear!) and its all over and done with very quickly. If you end up with an emergency section, it all happens that quickly you don't really have to time to panic, I was calm as a cucumber and I'm a big worrier normally!

    Take care ladies.
    xx

Plus by all accounts there's no point in writing out a birth plan as no-one looks at them anyway! OH knows what I would like, in an ideal world, but also we both know that we will just have to go with the flow.

Hi Jannine, nice to hear from you! Hope you are well and Poppy is doing ok! xx

I havent ever had a birth plan, every birth has started totally differently and progressed differently too. I`d be more upset if i had one set out then things went "wrong" so to speak. Like Gilly says, baby has to come out one way or another. As long as u listen to the midwife, u`ll be fine :) Even when they r telling u to do something, and ur screaming "i cant" haha, u can, and really, u should lol xx

I was told we HAD to write a birth plan. So I just did a bullet point list of what I do and don't want, if everything goes to plan of course.

    New Midwife = Useless.

Been today and she turned round and asked "so what do I need to do with you today"
Errr. I'd have thought that was a question you'd know the answer to.
Told her it's normally BP, urine and babys heartbeat, so that's what she did.
Really don't want that woman giving me a sweep, doubt she'd know what to do.

Hope Ro is ok and enjoying mummy cuddles. X

I know that feeling! I see my GP, and then the nurse for urine. Last time I went in the nurse said "what can I do for you" I said just to check my urine, "why" meanwhile I'm standing there with a bump and waving my maternity notes in her face. Then after all that palaver she said "so what are you expecting it to say" well I don't know?!? then she grumbled saying "it's clear" then didn't understand why she had to sign my notes, or where to sign them. She wasn't a young nurse either, so Christ knows what was going on.
