My mum has taken the Monday-Wednesday off work so is coming down on Sunday. She's my designated second labour partner if my OH isn't around. She's great though I still would prefer my OH to be with me.

Hello all!

I've decided that it might be time to 'officially' join this thread... I have had 2 12wk scans (long and complicated story) and they reckon I'm somewhere between 13+3 and 13+5 so I'm over the <12wk thread, and the 12-24 one seems a bit quiet. You lot sound much more fun!

So. Hi. I'm either due on the 30th November or the 2nd December, depending on which scan I go by, baby was wriggling about and doing headstands at both scans which was very exciting

I have a question for Emsbet and Happy... Does the robin have a twin, or has he recently relocated to London? He's been a permanent fixture in my garden over the past week, and seems particularly happy when there's ice cream around - today he was singing his little head off at the sight of a Magnum, so he's obviously been well trained...?

Just received an e-mail from the Sainsbury's baby club entitled 'Your little one has arrived!'. It's so very kind of them to let me know - just in case I hadn't noticed :rotfl:

I had one from them telling me my LO was now a month old! :mad: I spent ages emailing different clubs to get them cancelled when we lost Alex but some don't seem to have got the message. Not sure what the point is of having an unsubscribe button!

Just noticed that if all the boldies have their babies, I'll be fourth on the list

Though I think he's likely to turn up late - still not engaged according to the midwife and seemingly moving around and having far too much fun beating up mummy to want to escape.

The midwife asked if the obstetrician was going to do a sweep on my due date as I have an appointment. It hasn't been mentioned and I'd turn it down anyway as I don't want to artificially encourage labour before after the exams. So we booked a midwife appointment for the 12th in order to do a sweep - makes it sound sooooo close.

Though one thing I didn't think to ask so hopefully you lovely people can answer for me is whether in order for a sweep to be done does baby need to be engaged?

Also found out today that if my waters break properly (gushes rather than bits) then I will be expected to be in the hospital within 12 hours even if contractions don't start in that time. It's a bit scary but does mean that within 24 hours of my waters breaking (presuming they do before labour starts) I should have a baby

Hello Sa-ra-ra-ra! I have been given a due date of 26/11 but I'm pretty sure my 'real' due date is also the 30th of November! (counted again last night just to make sure)

I don't think the head has to be engaged for them to do a sweep Mrsmanda, I think it's the position and softness/how open your cervix is. I could be wrong though as I've never had one. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be by soon to let you know.
