Been for my 25 week midwife appointment this morning, bump measuring spot on and baby's heartbeat is fine. Lovely to hear it again.
Littlemoog I have a home Doppler but I haven't used it this pregnancy as DH doesnt want me to start fretting if I can't find the heartbeat.Emsbet as you were feeling a bit down after family had left - anything nice planned for rest of week?
Well I decided to go for a swim after I'd been to see the midwife as I was almost there anyway. Did 25 mins, that coupled with the 25/30min walk to the doctor's then there means I'm now pooped. Had to get a taxi home as couldn't walk all that way back. It was lovely to go for a swim again though. I'm feeling a bit better today, DH bought me a chocolate fudge cake and some choc chip cake bars last night to chear me upI think I'm just going to take it easy today and watch some tv. Not really sure what I'm going to do the rest of the week. DH's friend died suddenly last week and his funeral is tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm going to go or not though as I only knew him to say hi. DH says its up to me as another friend is going too so he won't be in his own.
((hugs)) Missmonkeymoo, it's horrible when you feel so isolated. I hope you feel better soon.

May I ask where he will be?
He's on specialist registrar training programme to become a consultant and has his Part A exams (2 days of 5 hours of exams) on the 11th and 12th in London. He could've put them off until January but that would've meant him spending the first 6 months of baby's life studying rather than spending time with his child. - The exams are rather intense and he's basically been working full time then coming home and spending an hour or two each evening and most of each weekend studying since August.
If baby does turn up on the Monday he'll probably come home for a few hours after he finishes for the day and if there's a problem then he'll cancel his exams and hotfoot it home. There's just no point in telling him anything overnight as it'll ruin his sleep and he cannot get home between midnight and 7am anyway.0 -

wow! sounds intense.
it seems like you guys have made a very sensible decision. Don't worry about what others think. It'll be much better to get the exams out of the way now.
You'll be so proud of him when he's finished. He sounds very hardworking and driven. xxxx
Anyway fingers crossed the baby will stay put until a convenient time for all three of you!0 -
Why is it that when I start eating at the moment I can't seem to stop!! Have just demolished egg and beans on toast for dinner, am now eating crisps and am eyeing up an ice lolly for afters
MrsManda Sounds like you and OH have made a tough but sensible decision, good luck with your OH's exams, am sure it will be a relief for you both when they are overHave you got someone on standby to be with you at the birth if OH away?
(((hugs))) MissMonkeyMoo I found it helped to break down house tasks I couldn't do into weekend lists for OH - nothing would have got done otherwise
Yay on 25 weeks Emsbet
Right, am finally gonna get off my bum and get some housework done, catch up later

Hi everyone *waves*
I've been lurking in and around this thread for months, but been a bit scared to join in!
There's no denying I'm pregnant now (30+5) - not that I was trying to, but felt a bit  about the whole thing, as it's our first.
Still slightly in denial that there may be a baby here (our baby!!) before the Olympics are over.
So, in the brave mood I have cultivated today - canI be added to the list? I am due on 2nd August with a surprise - hopefully a baby of some description.
Looking forward to the chat and support as I'm the only one in my circle of friends that is pregnant.
Have a great day all,

Just a quickie from me.... (huge congratulations on the new bubbas and hello to newbies too!) The H&B Rasp leaf capsules can also be split open to make tea and drunk. I'm on these since yday (34+1), 3 times a day with meals. Fingers crossed! xx0

Hi all and thank you for the advice on the fit to fly letter. Bellalola unfortunately your midwife seems more co-operative than mine! my midwife has said it has to be a doctor and that she's been told that they aren't allowed to sign them anymore :-(. The earliest my gp can see me is thursday and I have been told its definately going to cost £25. I would rather be spending the money on something else but as i fly friday i don't have a lot of choice!
Ikkle- i love the nursery photos, we are in the middle of moving upto wales and are waiting for exchange and completion dates so i think my nursery will be very last minute!
Emsbet thank you for adding me to the list-it'll be nice seeing my name moving upwards!
Miss monkey moo- sorry to hear that you're feeling a bit lonely, its hard when time is standing still as you're waiting for LO to arrive and yet everyone is going about their daily lives as usual. Once i've moved I'll be seeing what baby groups i can join just so i get to know others nearby. There's bound to be someone I'll get on with!xx
